Gotta be a small engineering firm about that can do it for you, PM me if you have issues finding someone, as I know a bunch of guys who are into old brit bikes who own lathes, may cost you some P&P and a few beer tokens

a hacksaw will do the job. No idea why you need a lathe.

Has anyone got access to a lathe or some sort of serious cutting device? I want to cut 5mm off each end of my 19mm spindle without wrecking the splines and threads.
Is this some sort of euphemism?
