I use one on the front of my bike to pitch the arses of fit birds walking down the street.. and steal sweets off children.

is this the swagger bike?
were the cranks threaded before you got the bike??Right, there seems to be some confusion.
This was the swagger.
This is the bike I won.
2 very different bikes. Both very cheap for what they are though!
But yes, the cranks were threaded before I got the bike, but hey, it's a used bicycle, I didn't buy it expecting it to be immaculate.

take it to BLB
-
• #33
actually asm don't you have a spare non-driveside stronglight crank?
-
• #34
note: no anglegrinders were harmed in the making of these posts
-
• #35
fuck off farrid!
And no, both arms of the stronglight were destroyed. And anyway, they were 170s.
All sorted now, thanks to Brixton cycles for the 2 spare metal BB cups!
AAA++++++ would buy from again

• #36
haha!
glad you got it sorted. Now come out for a ride!

ahh, i see.
it is a bit of a fucker to get it with the threaded crank though.....at least you got it sorted!

I'll keep an eye out for a spare left hand sug. 75 crank. But frankly I don't plan on disassembling this bike very often!
Only question is, do i get it sprayed sparkly purple or sparkly black?
-
• #39
purple.
it suits your character better, and you're costume:

The first thing I have understood all thread.
-
• #41
Well give me the answer then!
-
• #42
Ha! Purple. Standard. There's a lot of sparkly black/gunmetal about. Not that that's a bad thing or anything...
-
• #43
Ok, purple it is. If it turns out to be the wrong colour, you're liable, and I'll angle-grind your face. :)

^hollow threat. If ASM knew how to use an anglegrinder himself, many problems could have been avoided.

I realise its too late now, but the thing in the first picture is a triple leg puller. Horrible ungainly gangley things that you need four hands to operate. If any one finds themselves in need of one, I've got a spare 6" Draper one sat next to my desk. I've used it once and hopefully will never need it again. I'm not sure it has any sensible bicycle related use though, a smaller 2 legged one might take a crank off, I think this would just make you swear a lot.

You know nothing. I fucking shave with an anglegrinder.

Excellent, I love swearing. I'll get in touch next time I'm removing cranks.

This may come to late but I successfully managed to get off a crank arm with totally stripped thread by heating it with a hairdryer around for about 5-10 minutes just where it fits onto the BB axle and then gently tapping it with a wooden mallet - off it came, no problem. As the crank was alloy I guess is expanded faster than the steel BB axle, just enough to loosen it up.

White with rainbow sparkles would be awesome!
