Last one is very popular.
Thanks Tommy and Daccordi :) i will look into these tonight
This is great, old school frame building manual with some great drawings and body / frame dim info is very useful.....if only I had the patience
Had a go at welding aluminium, very very satisfying - but i think for building bikes you need a jig to keep everything straight and true whilst you build it. Did a bit of brazing too could see that being addictive. - Going to take a look at these links too... mmm technical drawings!
When she mentions hippy... is it the hippy from here?? he's from Aus isnt he? obviously there could be a few people called hippy that ride bicycles....
Those are some fun links. I love building things. Back in the States where I could have a garage as a workshop I was kitted out for all kinds of woodwork, cabinet making, light welding etc.
The results I achieved have convinced me not to pursue frame building. I love building things, but I wouldn't trust their integrity.
Here are a couple of films of Rih the bike builder from Amsterdam......
Can anyone remember the thread for that fella on LFGSS who built his own frame. Wasn't too long ago and I remember he did a really great job.
Wanted to have a read of it again.
Chris Csrah built his frame I think.
This chap had his name decal-ed on the frame, and wrote a report with pics about it on the forum.
Was probably about 3 months ago. Have searched but can't find it.
Maybe I was having cycling dreams again, must tell my shrink.
and someone else with a surname of a popular razor.
That went straight over my head, Ed...
and then I got it - http://www.londonfgss.com/thread25444.html
Very cool! I started a small frame building shop with some friends back in the early '90s. We saved for months to buy our first 'proper' jig, a huge $3000 Henry James beast. That project seems like it could move frame building to the back garden shed.
Are there any builders on here willing to sell reynolds tubesets to the common public ?
I am wanting to start practicing brazing lugs but apart from ceeway i couldn't find any suppliers for tubing.
For framebuilding chatter i hesitate to say it but the best resource is a different forum:
