fashion nhatt darling, fashion.
(please note this post is especially tongue in cheek as a I sit indoors in my polo neck ski fleece and bobble hat as out heating is broken and oxford is cold- and its VV, who's a snowboarder, and therefore has little sense of the concept, as neither i do, nor can I write coherently)

email to freshtripe: Hello you know that black bike you built, well thing is I'm colourblind, is it Burnt-down Norwegian wooden church black or Arnarchist's Neckerchief black?
email from freshtripe: erm well, black isn't a colour, technically.

I can't tell you that.
it's nowhere near that of the other geekhouse(I can't believe I can say that now!), far more reserved, some might even say overdone, but I like it as it will bring back memories of a good time in my life.
and it might be run SS rather than fixed as a shocker, because of the design and the idea of usage. -

burgundy x olive green with a strip of hawaiian sunset. Well that's what it looks like to me.

Its for a mate, he has a genesis flyer he wants resprayed and has had a pic of this bike as the ideal colour he want his done as his desktop for months, and i am going to get a frame i have sprayed up the same to cut costs.
Personally it doesnt look pure black to me, but anthracite/graphite/charcoal as has been suggested - if i can find the exact colour/finish it was done he will be happy, if not i will go with the Anthracite glossed up as suggested by spagettihoops.
Point being he has saved up and been looking for the right bike for a while, we have got together all the bits (courtesy of the forum), and the paintjob is the finishing touch to something he has been working on for ages, so its important to him (and me as i am lugging it of to Armourtex for him) that it looks the part.
Is that not the feeling we all get when putting together a ride? . . especially as this the first bike he has dropped a decent amount of wonga on, and having talked him out of buying a Unipack and set him on the path of a build, i am determined he rides off into the sunset a happy man!

its the same colour as this:

from hereWe'd also like to draw your attention to the paintjob, in a shade which Gorilla call 'Anthrazit'. It's a deep grey enamel with little flecks in it, durable enough for long-term commuting, and our favourite of the stock colours.
innit
EDIT; I really like the hattara, looks like a good frame for the money.

So just spoke to Thomas at Gorilla, and apparently it is Anthracite with a bit of brown mixed in, and then a metalflake laquer
However it is a custom colour mixed up by their painter, so no RAL, but he reckons that Anthracite powdercoat with a minimal metalflake laquer will do the job
I should add that the guy was more than helpfull, even phoning up the painter, so big props to Gorilla
