I'm here for a bit either way, will say hi if you're about.
Just left, sorry, skipped lunch and was starving.
No worries, home now listening to Vera Lynn's greatest hits.
P.s. Greg's food is amazing.
I didn't notice any clouds today. Sorry for thread derail.
There's loads of clouds but they're all traditional Manchester grey everywhere.
Not sure my phone cam does it justice but nice cloud formation over Epsom this evening
Anyone have any idea what these are? The skies up in Orkney were amazing last night!
Stacked Lenticular clouds maybe?
Spot on thank you, been doing a bit of digging this morning and that’s exactly what they are. Got lucky being around for spotting them as they weren’t around for longer than an hour or so and the rest of the sky was pretty unremarkable so wouldn’t have thought to go out and check out the sky.
^ This. Those are very impressive!
The Cloud Appreciation Society are good for looking for that kind of stuff. If you do Twitter, then I'm sure they retweet those (@CloudAppSoc) as they are some of the best photos of lenticular clouds I've seen.
Light skies at 00.35 this morning in Newcastle
pretty bonkers sunset yesterday.
Is this a circumzenithal arc over the Queen’s Arms?
Remind me of Tors (Dartmoor etc.)
yes it is
Wiki: "its first impression being that of an upside-down rainbow"
