Canal Rides 1 and 2

Time to get your Pathracers out Ladies and Gentlemen.

I was thinking of doing some nice gentle rides around this fair city.

Limehouse Tube Station meet for a ride all along the Regents Canal to the Thames at the other end. Finishing point where the canal meets the Thames in Brentford.
Ride : probably 40 miles all in give or take 5 miles
Paths are 75% paved / 25% smooth dirt could be a little muddy due to recent rain

Meet Limehouse Tube take the Lee Valley / Canals up into Hertfordshire and then back via Epping Forrest ( am not 100% sure of route but we can play it by ear.

for tomorrow: if you follow signs for roydon when you reach broxbourne, stop by the italian restaurant built into the roydon train station platform. its the business.

my bum is aching a bit from yesterday but i'll still be there at 1.15 leaving at 1.30

another couple of spring rides

Thames to Thames via The Regents Canal : Limehouse Basin round to Brentford

Thames to Thames : Up the Lea Valley to Broxbourne for pint and food then back

ride will be extremely sociable, taking in as many of the capitals fine off licenses and green spaces as possible

Sounds good, canals lovely slow pace and can slack with a few days notice. 21st and 22nd?

This sounds interesting. If the days are ok with me, I'm happy to tag along.

dearie me- forgot about this. I have been riding a lot along canals recently... good shelter from the wind.

could do either thames to thames or a ride up to broxbourne

bit of a heat wave coming next week
tues / weds i'll probably do one of my 4 london loop rides

canal 1 up to broxbourne for a pint in the pub on the canal and back
canal 2 loop round the regents to brentford then back along the river stopping for a pint or a pub lunch on the thames
thames 1 battersea to hampton court and back along the thames path ( quite a long one ) stopping for a pint somewhere down near hampton
thames 2 the bridge ride ... down to dartford crossing on the north side thames path then back to woolwich on the south thames path stopping for some tramps beers at a couple of points along the way

anyone fancy some off road canal path type riding and necking a pint or two feel free to join up

Fancy ALL of these but had a knee op otherwise would be in for one of them. Next time but have a good one.

Ha! Misread this and thought you were doing all four in a day. Will keeep my eyes on this/ear to the ground #maybe

haven't decided on route or day yet
