  • I suppose we should do what we can to make sure Lord Berkeley gets what he wants, because that really will be a nightmare - 200 trucks in central London every day to dispose of soil. Eek.

  • cool idea if it's possible.

  • Is that the same tunnel we were going to buy for the LFGSS Clubhouse™

  • Disused Royal Mail tunnels??

Why would they be disused? Surely thats some useful infrastructure for... something.

  • Perhaps Guerillaphoto knows more...

  • They should turn them into ungerground cycle paths. Probably cheaper then slapping 10 metres of green paint on the road at random spots that no-one uses. If someone found a way in we could hold drag races and other fun filled family days of cycling madness.

  • gridlock is the safest to cycle in right after carfree roads.

  • The Mail Rail a useful solution, take the soil to Paddington easily and then deposited via main line, better than having an average 10 truck every hours (calculated by 20 hours a day).

  • It'll be like Die Hard 3.

Why don't they just dig a big hole and put all that soil into it????

  • Where would you put the earth you have taken to create the hole?

  • ^^^Dig another hole!

  • Walked into that andy...

  • Yeah its no fun when its too easy.

  • Could you send some soil my way so I can fill my mouth with it. Should keep my feet safe for a while.
    Hangs head in shame.

You could however build the worlds largest mud pie. You could cover this

  • Or just dump it in the Thames, it looks dirty as it is anyway.

  • That soil might be useful with global warming raising the water level. Ever seen that film Waterworld with Kevin Kostner? It was an absolute abomination.... anyway, they are looking for soil because the water level has risen... whatever. Dont mind me.

  • london, the new vinice .
How easy would it be to turn a pedello into a fixie.

God, imagine living in a perpetualy bad film.

On the plus side though. It will meen PEDALLOS FTW!!!!!

    Oh, andy just said that.

  • Pedal kayak ftw.

  • Imagine dodging the Thames Clippers on your pedalo commute instead of bendy busses... sticking your finger up at water taxis... sounds quite fun.

Also Pink, I suspect that I am indeed living in a perpetually bad movie. I think Im being played by Hugh Grant or something. Its fucking fucked.

    not that silly an idea.

a job i worked on in Greenwich had planning condition that they had to dump the earth they removed into barges and cart it out along the river, to avoid trucks clogging up the middle of Greenwich.

Our worry is that the additional construction traffic will increase the risk to cyclists.

  • Exactly, and with the Olympics and Kings Cross redevelopment in full bloom soon, that's a lot of extra traffic. I dunno what this means for the HGV safety campaign, but it ain't good.

  • Like BRM said use the canals and the river, all are close by to all 3 sites.
