Sorry, that was a bit pathetic. What I meant was, do Brooks do a girls saddle in brown? Not the ones with springs either.
Also, is a boys saddle out of the question for a girl?

'normal' saddle is fine, a normal B17 is more than enough for some.
depend on how petite your missus is, mine's 5'4 and found the lady B67 a little on the short side, but the normal B67 is perfect.

cheers... shame about the £. Wish I'd got one off Wiggle while they still had them. They are worth it though, I've ridden hundred of miles on mine (some 300+ mile weeks and a number of 100+ mile rides) and stayed comfortable. No breaking in required either.

Where did you find a white one? I didn't realise they were discontinuing them, I've been planning on getting one for my touring bike for ages.

Tredz is sold out, LAW, I ended up having to go with another one. Can't remember the place, WHeelies? Just look for selle italia ladies gel flow slk on one of those aggregate sites, and it's the one selling it for £83 that isn't tredz.

'normal' saddle is fine,
pardon me, but Ed, how the eff would you know??!
-
• #132
Stelle, I think you'll find that Ed is our resident authority on all forms of archaic bicycle technology.
-
• #133
Because the missus had one on her bike that is.

I may well have a Selle Italia Lady Gel Flow in black for sells soon.
I bought two saddles to try out on my tourer, the other one being an old faithful Brooks B17.
I've only tried the SI one on 3 6mile commute and I'm fairly sure it's not quite right for me.
It seems to rub slightly on the left side.
Should I give it a better go, or stick with what I have on my fixed that I know my beehind likes. I've not done longer than 40miles in though and am touring for 2 months! -
• #135
But is it a B17 or a B17-S (the girly version)?
-
• #136
it's a B 17 Standard, which I felt like I didn't have to break in at all, it was so comfy right out the box.
-
• #137
Pending price and being behind Tricity in a potential queue, wouldn't mind dibs if you do look to sell.
-
• #138
Ha, fair do's LAW. I might give it one more go, and one go on the Brooks.
Not sure what a decent price is though?Gutted, I really wanted this saddle to work.
-
• #139
Definitely give it another go.
I've tried 4 saddles, two of them just didn't work for me - although I knew before I'd finished riding a couple hundred yards on them. Actually one of them was a Brooks so I'm left with a feeling that I may well have given up too quick. Aroogah's happy to have it though!

Brooks are totally worth the perseverance but I'm thinking not much is going to change on the SI gel flow. If it's rubbing after 3 short journeys, then I can't see how it's going to get better.
I might be able to get my money back on this but how much would this be worth do you think?
-
• #141
I've no idea I'm afraid - try getting your money back, or at least a voucher. Could search and see what folk put similarly priced saddles up for.
-
• #142
Well, any less than £50 wouldn't be worth it if I can get my money back.

I may well have a Selle Italia Lady Gel Flow in black for sells soon.
Is that the Lady Gel Flow (http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?PartnerID=79&ModelID=21982) or the SLK Lady Gel Flow (http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?PartnerID=79&ModelID=21995)? Guessing the SLK by the price, but just checking.
Though if you do decide to sell then Julia can be first in line cos I get a discount on Wiggle stuff through work anyway. :)
I persevered for months with my Brooks but while I found it really comfortable for shorter rides, anything over 50 miles and I was in so much pain when I got off the bike. Different things work for different people.

Pooh. The SLK Ladies Gel Flow will no longer be made in any color other than black as stockists are unwilling to extend range. : (
-
• #145
shit, what about the regular Ladies Gel Flow?
-
• #146
I think you'll be fine with that, it's still quite a common product. The SLK Ladies Gel Flow seems to have been a minority product since the SLR Lady Gel flow took over (this: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?PartnerID=79&ModelID=34697 not to be confused with the Selle SLR Lady Gel Flow Diva which maybe is the one you're talking about). I have to say, I have both the SLK and SLR and both are super comfy, padded shorts or no. The SLK is a bit wierd looking though, and Jenne trust me the white does not stay white - you're better off with black! Why they will only have 2 female specific saddles in the range is beyond me though, I agree that seems harsh. But maybe there just isn't the market for it?
And while we're about it: why for gawds sake does the SLR have that pink squiggly thing on the back?! I want the carbon detailing, you morons, not pink dribble!

Hello, I've been lurking in the shadows for quite a while now and really need some advice on saddles. I have previously ridden in an upright position and have used mainly mens saddles with no problems. I purchased a touring bike about a year ago and ridding in a more forward position is causing considerable pain and making longer rides miserable. I have my lady bits pierced, anyone have any recommendations?

Same problem, I just ride with a dipped nose to all saddles, otherwise the bruising was awful. Plus always lube/ chamois cream and try to wear padded shorts whenever possible.

^ well done!
I've been riding on one of those lately - black though. Done about 20+ x 10mile rides, and often, about 7 miles in I'm starting to get a slight nerve-like pain by my right sit-bone. Doesn't persist after the ride. Am going to move the seat back a little, see if that helps. I like the saddle otherwise, not yet totally convinced whether I should change it.
Anyone else get similar?

Can anyone please help my find a Brooks saddle, suitable for a laaaydy, in brown (dark brown, not honey brown)?
Much obliged.
