Plugs

  • Anyone know where I can get some wooden handlebar plugs? I want some like the ones that come with Brooks bar tape but I'm not paying £30+ just for the plugs.

If anyone has any spares that they don't mind plopping the post to me I'll pay good money and drinks once I have a bike suitable to make it to London!

  • actually ditto on the request, need one for the missus bike that broke (obviously whizz got the first dibs).

  • remember to soak them in linseed oil before attempting to insert them - they dry out badly in the package and crack very easily if you dont treat them first.

  • insiders tip - get two good bottles of (scotch) whisky, drink the contents and there you go = 2 wooden top/cork inner bar plugs and a nice hangover.

try glenrothes or bruichladdich (most more common whiskies will be cork with a plastic top)

And if you are needing someone to drink the contents...

FYI - i use wine corks as didn't want the extra 10-15mm on the end of my bullhorns (i.e. that fit nicely flush, removed with a corkscrew)
