Just thought I would check flickr for bike photos from Japan, and guess what:

Everyone of those bikes is 100% anti-porn

it all depends on where you visited.

Ropongi Hills, or Shinjyuku are the trendiest areas in Tokyo, so will have a higher number of 'porn', just like the nicest bikes here in Osaka are in Shinsaibashi and Ame-mura

I went to Ropongi Hills, Shinjyuku, Ebisu, Harajuku, Shibuya, but not Daikanyama or Omotesando. I did keep my eyes peeled for nice bikes but hey - there were quite a few other interesting things going on too!

The reason why they are 'anti' is that they are almost all really expensive nice frames & parts but put together with absolutley no taste & co-ordination.

Weird colour clashes and kooky bike setups (in a bad way)

I kinda snapped a bit there, its early and I'd had no nicotine, soz... Seriously though, weird colour clashes? If anything thse bikes are colour co-ordinated pretty well, apart from maybe the blue one with yellow tyres. This must make me seem a bit anal now.

Don't be so inexcusably dumb please. You talk about this as if there is a global right and wrong way to build up a bike. You might not like it and see them as having no taste or co-ordination, but please don't say this as if it is a general consensus. It's boring and needlessly inflammatory. Keep your bike-style rants to the bike porn thread. Or completely to yourself.

Also, while I'm slightly iffy about the whole 'Japan is the centre of everything cool' thing (i think this is a very broad stereotype and isn't really true at all) - how do you know that their styles exhibited aren't going to be the next big thing? Just because you don't like it now doesn't mean it won't soon be cool to have massively clashing colour combs. Well it already is actually, i guess..
