Oh, purely the styling. Especially the size. A lot of the other 5s are quite large and/or a bit lacking style-wise. Though the finishing on these does seem to be pretty decent as 5s go.
These ought to be found cheaper, still not really sure where the SKX-esque 5 Sports have come down to in terms of price here. They sell for peanuts in the States.
Awesome. I am pleased you are keeping it.
I like them, but the hands are a bit too thin for me.
Awesome - so sharp and clean.
The first proper ding on that is really going to sting ;)
Looks great. Is it one of the new bezeless Seiko 5's?
@howard I thought the difference between these and the ones lower down the chain was that these had the hackable/hand wind 4R36 movement? seems like its a step up from the 7S26 in the SKX series.
I like it. Quite hypnotic
True for many of them (and it’s the main “upgrade” over the SKX007) but you can (could?) get 4R-based Seiko 5s, especially the Sports models, for little more than a ton. Eg this one of mine (Sumo has the black version). Think I paid about £150 but later on they were popping up for £120-ish. Decent bracelet and a display caseback on them too.
Haven't worn this in months
Not worn a witch for a while.
Apparently the distance between second hand and chapter ring does make a big difference to perception of backlash. Sounds logical I guess...
There’s a bit of dust on your strap mate.
At some point I’m going to try cleaning it all off thoroughly but I doubt it’ll help. Living with it for now. (Extremely first world problem, I know)
Finding the negative display better than I was expecting, no issues in bright light
A random titanium, internal bezel, world-time, eco-drive, citizen jobba that I got from ebay a while back. Always surprised by how light it is
They need more things on that dial
Is that a retrograde 24hr indicator? Don't think I've seen that before.
Yep. It's actually second time zone rather than just 24hr, just happens to be set the same.
Do tell me if this is spamming already...
It’s definitely not.
