Antique Watch Co which is opposite wouldn't/couldn't repair it for me, and these guys reckon it's gonna be at least £180, maybe more. Once they confirm, that will be my budget for something similar as a replacement...

You could get a new one for that, no? Sentimental value?

There's a chap I work with occasionally who bought a PP for $2.25m and he wears it every day. Goes well with his scruffy shorts and sandals.

Btw, don't mind admitting that I'm totally gay for Paul Newman. Not enough to pay £1m for his watch though.

Bravo to him, it's meant to be worn. It's next owner can wrap it in cotton wool and only wear it with a tuxedo.
