Of course it can be both. Perhaps you should meet them before you make up your mind?

  • hi guys
thanx for all your comments ;-)

  • i like to hunt and kill my own food daily.
i normally skin my catch (cats, dogs, squirrels etc.) in the bathtub every morning, and boil it for my lunch.... will you guys be ok with this?

i don't normally eat the eyballs, so you guys would be welcome to have them with your soya mik porridge if you want?

    thanks!

  • If I was looking to move into that area and you didn't have a dog, I'd be interested.

wrt the "animal rights and a pet" tag - it could be a rescued pet, thus, no hypocrisy.

  • I can see that posting this ad here was waste of time as it only cause silly discussion............
seems like you guys can only bitching around
    though thanks for attention

  • I think the exposure (bumping) you get from all the silly comments is a blessing.
    It's only Friday banter.

  • i hope for the sake of whoever moves in they have a better sense of humour than you Oliver. lighten up!

You're a newbie aren't you? You don't know Oliver do you?

  • thats a fucking big ask here in LOndon... most places are ++360p/m

is it really? an average Zone 2 flat with 1 bedroom would be £200-230 a week, 85 a week isn't bad for sharing.

  • thats what im saying ED, p/w its usually more than a £100.
Im lucky im spending £75 p/w in Zone 1, 1 bedroom studio.
i cannot find anything cheaper, be it zone 1,2,3 or 4.
    Takes the piss.

  • ok i should have said i'm sharing.

    Im looking to move though.

personally i think it's hard finding a flat for your price range thats "Livable".
most i've seen for 85-100 p/w each are dirty filthy shit holes.

Agencies in my experience overprice the rent so they can get their greedy cut.

Private, person to person rental is the way to go.
That's what i'm going, you cut out the middle man (agency) and everyone is happy.

  • And he doesn't know me either but that didn't stop him from just assuming i was serious without asking first.

scraggie borsha, do you really think that it necessarily came across that you were trying to be ironic?

I don't know if you're vegan or concerned about animal rights, but if not let me assure you that this kind of remark is constantly heard from people with typical misconceptions of veganism or animal rights. (Not that I mind, as it often makes for a good opener for a conversation about veganism, mmwaamwaahahaharharrrrhaaaaarrr.)

Without some kind of indication that you're being ironic, it is just not going to work on an open Internet forum. I wasn't making any assumptions, but simply judging by the appearance of your post, as I should.

I'm glad it came across that my post was meant seriously, as that's what I intended.

Once you know more people on here (and one great advantage of this forum is that people actually do go out and socialise and meet one another), you'll have a better context for your posts.

I know somebody with very strong opinions on this who doesn't believe any animals should be 'owned'.....rescued or otherwise.
    Everybody has their own opinions.

There's a further distinction worth making in this context in that most people I know who have rescued pets wouldn't consider themselves as 'owning' the animals at all, but simply as providing a home for them. Is that your acquaintance's view or is s/he also opposed to providing a home for them? (There are very few people who think that, in my experience.)

  • at this point i always tend to think about a friend. and his dog. and the fact that when it died, none of it's doggie mates turned up to the funeral.

  • at this point i always tend to think about a friend. and his dog. and the fact that when it died, none of it's doggie mates turned up to the funeral.

    hahaha!

  • As is always my theory....make your own choices in life, but allow others to make theirs too.

No offense intended but, without qualification, that's a fairly daft theory. We, either as individuals or as a society, only allow people to make the choices we find acceptable or those that don't cause harm to others - don't we? I'm not saying that I agree with the tactics you describe above that a (small) minority of vegans adopt - but presumably, unless your a total libertarian, you would stop me making certain choices? If not, tell me where you live because my choice is to borrow your bike for the next few months....;) Err, have you posted a pic of it yet, I need to check if it's better than Oliver's...

I say this as a dog-owning (well technically he's dead!), meat-eating, (occasional) leather-wearer.....let the innuendo begin!

  • Veganism and vegetarianism isn't simply about looking out for cute and cuddly animals
