Backstedt will skip Nationals due to Covid
Shame. Rooting for Cam Mason in the mens… I like his YouTube videos and he seems like a good guy.
Best of luck @Jon and @fredtc. Should be muddy down there tomorrow 😜
I was there this afternoon, it was wet and very muddy but generally great fun
Some crappy low res, wet lens, insta pics I took from today.
Good luck to both @fredtc and Jon (not @JonD) today.
I got all excited seeing @Ecunard on GCN yesterday in the Belgian Nationals, am expecting more of the same today with you both.
don't listen to him @JonD, I'll be rooting for you
How’s the warm-up going @JonD ?
Best of luck Jon and @fredtc I’m here cheering you on
I’m just about ready. Thanks for your wishes everyone. Watched the women’s race with lunch and now just keeping an eye on Wout smashing the sand in the Belgian course. Just gotta decide which bottle to open really. Cheeky red, or a cool beer?
hows this not me?!
did jonD win
edit: who is this thomas mein lad? is that jonD?
Men's race was mega and the atmoshpere was great!
Glad I didn't race, the course looked brutal. @JonD You were wise to avoid it in the end.
Haha, yeah! The course looked, let’s say… quite sticky. Wish I’d had a go at cross when I was younger though. Something about it appeals, not sure what/why. Doubt I’d have got around a single lap out there today before being pulled out. Well done all.
clearly is u tho
Belgian champs course looked really good
We should get @Ecunard to tell us what it was like to ride.
Here's my edited highlights of the juniors on the course on Saturday
That was great
I guess you'll have to do a vlog for every round of the London League now to keep the subscribers happy.
thanks, glad you enjoyed it.
Well seeing as I had no intention of going on Saturday until my mate texted me circa 9 a.m. and asked if I wanted to tag along with him that is unlikely to happen :-)
x post from the tub thread
so I rolled a tub in a cross race a couple of weeks back and the tyre got very muddy in the process. It's a pretty new FMB tyre so I'm keen to reglue it, but obvioulsy I need to clean the base tape. It was taped on so there's no glue residue but there is a lot of mud in it.
What would be the best thing to use? Is just a good wash with soapy water sufficient or do I need to use something else like https://www.effettomariposa.eu/products/eau-de-carogna-adhesion-primer
If you haven't already I'd try dry brushing it first and maybe a gentle hoover to remove as much mud, dust as you can. It might take a few passes though
I'd also be tempted to contact FMB to get some advice so you don't affect the adhesion of the base tape
