I put all that in a spreadsheet earlier - googling the locations in the London league left me thinking it needs to be charged under the trade descriptions act!
Ps - congrats on you win on Thursday. I think I remember you effortlessly gliding past!

Just 6 rounds inside the M25 this year.
It needs more clubs to organise London rounds though, there's no shortage of venues these days.
-
• #3430
Probably not, it's tough stuff with some give in it.

Make sure to give the top bar some play, so it doesn't fit snug in the brackets. A bit like a limbo bar, so it just falls to the floor if you hit it.

I was going to build it this style so it will tip if you trip over it.

Don't forget the champagne.
-
• #3434
Oh, that's a better plan.
The ones that Twick CC (Old Deer Park training) use are collapsible in the middle, seems people end up treading on them from above when misjudging their step or failed bunny hop

Ah, great idea. Now I look at the picture I can see they've done it too.
Need some more parts.

There are bigger barriers? Was it really naive of me to assume not? How bad do they get?
-
• #3437
Abergavenny has been pretty notorious in the past. In one configuration shorter riders were putting their hands on the barriers to steady themselves as they climbed over. This was on a steep bank though so from above they were only knee height which is about what they should be.
Of course there the occassional natural obstacles that get built into courses as well. The Wakefield Fun Log was a prime example of this. If you weren't riding over it, you were probably stepping on it to get over. Cause of a few humourous dismounts until they took it out last year. Photo's and the rare video will show that some time ago it was de rigeur for organisers to route the course through any rivers that might be close to the HQ.

Round 4, last year.

• #3439
Was that the Vicious Velo round at Hog Hill?
Needed a grappling iron to get over those in the last two laps.
-
• #3440

Nice polo goals, need back bars.
-
• #3441
@owlz would you ever be training at night? If so, you could line your barriers with an LED rope so you can skip the light fandango. Would be special.

Gluing tubs...yuck. Any London bikes shops who will do this for those afflicted with too short an attention span?
-
• #3443
Lazy fucker.
-
• #3444
I get mine preglued and taped.
-
• #3445
Is the Hackney GT weds night training still happening? Anyone heading down?
-
• #3446
I accept that :-p
-
• #3447
Condor would probably do it, and be relatively trustworthy.
-
• #3448
But would probably lighten your wallet to the tune of Β£200 to do a pair of wheels.
It's really not that difficult. For some reason people like to maintain a level of mystique about tubs, but glueing them is an hour's worth of effort for a pair of wheels.
Cleaning them of old glue is what really takes time and hard work.

Thanks Andy (and Jon).
Hard work? Pffft.
-
• #3450
Sam, tell you what, we could have a tub glueing session.

@Multi_Grooves
I see the Supercross has a date ( Oct 31st ), but still no venue listed.
