  • Please use this thread to organise team nights, or to announce team nights/mornings that have been organised in private, so no one gets disappointed when they turn up to play throw-ins.

Please organise team nights on days or courts where established throw-in sessions aren't occuring. (Mon/Weds @ Newington or Tues/Thurs @ Mitch)

  • Sounds fun, just seems hard to get teams in the same place at the same time!

  • Which is why it would work.
If you had every regular team at one place at the same time, there would surely be a team that didn't get a game in.

  • I'm in. The difference between throw-ins and league matches is pretty spectacular - in time, quality, and effort, but also enjoyment (at times). It'd be awesome to have some just-for-fun and competitive games.

  • Ah I get you, too late for my brain.

    I'm in!

  • In new york they used to do it every thursday night and it brought people over. Plus on sundays they never managed to get teams together cause there were too many throw ins.

But surely there will be a summer league?

  • can we have a less formal approach where if there are teams they can play as a team (kind of like just fixing the throw in) but teamless people can still play. I know it'll be hard to get all of bad up north on weekdays (and even most weekends) so it'd be shitty to exclude people missing teammates.

  • You mean like subbing a player? Absolutely!

  • But surely there will be a summer league?

I'm not so sure about it. There may be but I think the incentive to just play in the warmer weather is enough to let throw-ins take precedent. Plus a little break to take some time to iron out all the wrinkles (rules/guidelines) would do some good.

Anyway, that's something to decide somewhere/sometime else.

  • kind of, i guess i'm suggesting something like the last game on saturday, where it was a normal throw-in, but the mallets were fixed so the zomb's could play together.

Basically i think a teamless person should still be able to turn-up and get their fair share of games

Oh yeah that game we miserably lost

  • oh course, i'm saying all this because 9 times out 10 it will be me who is teamless and i don't want to be sitting on the sidelines all night getting grumpy :)

  • Oh yeah that game we miserably lost

ha! wasn't going to mention that

  • i like the idea of a team day, a few of us have had some clandestine games against each other, and it's really great fun (without the high stakes), and also good practise.

  • Ok, so good response to this.

What about this Thursday with the Beeb?

  • in.

DT, you can play on my team anytime!

  • Looks like I'll be an official sub ......... anyone ??

  • yeah, I'd like to be part of this too - if anyone requires a sub, lemme know.

  • Im in!
Anyone looking for subs remember that i was on the winning team on Sat (winky face)

  • 3 non-affiliated players looking for a team. Hmmmm....

  • surely you can form a team on the night, like a throw in team? and just play with the same team all night... good for testing out new recruits for league/transfers... im sure there will be some shuffling of league teams for the next league

  • nice idea, but i would be sat on the sidelines all day too.
dave - we should do our house team... me you and slamm!

  • That last game at Downham on Sat was brilliant to watch! The pace just suddenly accelerated from all the previous games in the day.
