also, i think if it's proving too hard to find a suitable house for us all to stay in, then picking a campsite with mobile homes is the best option. Hops found one 3k from the polo court: http://www.rouentourisme.com/partner_details.asp?ext=en&id=127
This sounds like a top option

that sounds wicked, it'll be nice to be in the outdoors most of the time.
Do they have permanent motorhomes? they all look like customers caravans?

Nice. I just tried calling Rouen again, and the tourist board doesn't seem to like to answer its phones. I'm happy with mobile homes.
-
• #331
How many people fit in a mobile home? They may not have enough for all of us!
-
• #332
normally sleep 6 - 8 but you can sometimes squeeze a couple more in
-
• #333
6-8! Are you kidding? I thought it'd be closer to two!
-
• #334
I thought they slept 4
It says : "Mobil-homes rent : from 92€ to 155€/week", so they have them. Split 4 or 6 ways and it works out pretty cheap. Also people that want it even cheaper have the option of bringing a tent and camping proper
-
• #335
Nah, they usually have 2 bedrooms (2 person each) and a lounge which usually sleeps either 2 or 4 people
-
• #336
Anyone want to call and get the details? I'm sick of calling the Frenchies.

the last time we (hops, slamm, aidan and me) rode out of dieppe we took a back route that went along a valley. It was much flatter/quieter and all round prettier. So if we choose to ride we should be able to avoid that long slog of a hill
Ha! ...and avoid the road out of the ferry port with the massive hills, and take the shortcut over the bridge instead :D

There are two campsites in Rouen. This one has mobile homes to hire from 92E to 155E for a week. I assume if they are designed for a family holiday, we'll probably be able to squeeze 4-6 of us in each?
I am happy to pitch our 940g two-man all-weather tent if there aren't enough caravans. :D
