Indeed. Felt gutted just reading his Facebook post.

I have actual tears in my eyes.

It’s incredibly sad. How he can be so brave and open under the circumstances is beyond my understanding , it’s so much more than I think I could manage.

Humbling read. Puts your own shit into perspective. Fuck.

Frank Dobson, former Health Sec

Was my MP for my whole early life.
Really sad to hear of his passing, a true pillar of what the Labour Party should stand for

Yes, he was a good man. His career was pretty much ended when he was forced to stand against Livingstone for London mayor on Blair’s orders. A sad end.

I've been seeing the occasional mention of him on FB over the last couple of weeks, very sad to hear he didn't pull through... RIP 🖤

I’ll tell you my Gary Rhodes story over a beer one day.

I will buy you that cider then. Unless you are on the GF beers now?

I wanna hear this as well, next time I'm in town... I always found him very annoying and his food overly elaborate, too young to be leaving us tho'... RIP...

Clive James (to be fair I thought he was already dead)
-

He wrote a lot about his illness. Good versifier. RIP.

I always thought of him as a successor to Peter Ustinov, holding the same position for a later generation. A witty and urbane citizen of the world, able to flatter the host nation so that they didn't resent him for being smarter than most of them.
Yup, very much so.
