  • Owned since new, Pinarello Treviso 55cm ctc in Columbus GPX. Pearlescent midnight blue with chrome forks and rear stays. Campagnoloo 8 speed. Record levers and front mech. Chorus chainset, rear mech, headset, brakes, seatpin. Wheels are Amborsio Excellence on Mirage, ss spokes. Pinarello Squadra Prof saddle.

  • E quanto?

  • More than £500 but less than £1000. After that it just depends on the buyer interest.

  • Tops of seat stays, fork crowns and even rear brake bridge have Pinarello marks with paint lining.

  • Too small for me sadly. It might fit jonny who is after a geared bike though. I had a Pinarello Stelvio bought in 1995 and it was a joy to ride. Someone should buy this, they'd not regret it.

Cheers Andy, I have enjoyed riding it. It has a classic balanced feel. Comfortable but sporting, predictable but engaging. Instead of ferreting around for all the bits to match a frame why not strip this one down and enjoy re-building. All parts origional and period. Now, where's Jonny?

    1. Your place was NOT that clean when we were there.
    2. Thanks muchly for the snacks on Sat.. rolling around London at 10kph is surprisingly hard work :)
  • Any chance you'd split? I'm looking for levers, chainset and mechs.

  • fasteddy - quick question. I recently got a frame that looks exactly the same from retro_di_corsa. However mine has the name VUELTA on the top tube and EL tubing. What does yours say on the top tube (near the headset). Have you got any more details on when you bought it and any info?

Just a suprise to see the same exact paint job (although yours looks better than mine)!

For any potential buyers, i can attest that the frame is a joy to ride on (although we may have different tubesets).

Hi Kam, The name on the top tube is 'Treviso' named after the home town of Pinarello. I think the painted M motif comes from the Mercatone-uno team who they supplied bikes to. I bought the bike from Tony Mills when he owned Dauphin Sport.

  • Pinarello did a range of frames based on different tubesets. I think GPX is a special for them made by Columbus. As one of the larger Italian builders they could order enough tubing to make this worth their while. I had a very similar frame to the one above, a Stelvio which used Dedaccai MCDVC6 tubing, which was also a special for Pinarello. Like FE's it was also bought from Tony Mills at Dauphin.

It was a lovely frame to ride and descended like it was on rails. I see it every now and again being ridden by the chap I sold it to. He loves it, which pleases me as I'm glad it went to a good home. (Sentimental old fart that I am).

  • thanks for info guys, i did a little googling and mainly found forums talking about the lack of info about my model.

    I love it anyways!

  • Hey Kam, I wondered if you'd spot this, dead ringer eh? Except of course this one has managed to keep hold of its decals ;p The EL tubeset is a notch above GPX IMHO, certainly a tad lighter but both would have top ride quality. As far as I remember, GPX is a custom variant of SLX, i.e. special spiral internally reinforced lightweight tubeset. Have to say I'm tempted by this, really nice bike in great condition... hmmm.... had any offers yet FE?

  • hehe, we could be lame cycling twins!

  • Hey FE, please could you confirm the seat tube and top tube dimensions C2C? Pins of this age tended not to be 'square' as Pin measured seat tube from BB to seat pin bolt, so the TT tends to be longer that seat tube proportionally... ta!

I believe 74deg parallel geometry, seat tube and top tube are 55cm ctc. Nice thing is as it is still complete you can try it!

    Thanks.

Well not desperate but if has to be split, split it will be. Sounds like we have the chainset, levers, mechs bundle sorted......... now who wants a Pinarello frame and forks with chorus hset and bb ?? FE

  • How old?

  • Build was late eighties. Total mileage under 1000 miles. You could probably date it exactly by the 8speed.

Actually I've just checked the Campag timelines and it appears it must have been more like 1992/1994 as that was when 8speed was made!
