'An evening of film, art and music dedicated to singlespeed and fixed gear bikes, presented by Denim and 45rpm.

In the auditorium screenings of some of the finest fixed gear footage available, featuring riders from New York and San Francisco, as they battle traffic, showoff their skills, explore urban environments and injure themselves. Featuring the incredible stories of amazing riders and modelled on the style of skate andsurf videos, these films bring out the style and beauty of fixed gear riders, and are landmarks in the emerging subculture of urban riding.

The venue will be taken over by Street artist 45rpm who alongside friends will be providing work associated with the single speed/fixed gear bike culture. Artists so far confirmed include Sums, Black Cloud, and 45rpm himself.

Music in the bar from Nadoone (Illegal Seagull/Splashback) playing hardcore, skatecore & fixedcore!!'

definatly worth £4 in my opinion

  • i think i could spare 4 coins for that, any other takers?

  • Im there.

  • we have a couple weeks yet im sure we can get a few more people along for sure

  • If I can spare the time I'll come back for it.
Edit: If I decide I'm gonna try to do some Uni work this term I might have to stay in London.

  • Just this second got off the blower with 45RPM about this very event, after just spotting the post here!

Im one of the 'artists' (I say that in the loosest sense of the world) doing some bits for the show and Im well hyped on it, itll be great to have an event like this, I canne wait!

  • i'm stoked on the event, it looks like it will be a goodun

ill be there with a few of my mates some bike riders some not

will be nice to meet some other members as i havn't made the effort to do so yet

  • Does 45 ride fixed? I don't know him personally, but i'm a fan of his relentless assault on our streets! Some nice stuff hanging in friend and co. I'm hyped about the event - haven't been to cube in a while, what is the bike locking situation?

  • what is the bike locking situation?

im not sure, but i recon if a lot of people turn up on bikes it could be a little tricky? i might check it out this week

  • I'll make it in for this without a doubt.

the sketchiest part of town to lock a bike though.

  • just realised this thread is a repost proper sorry like!

  • got my ticket.

  • got my ticket.

Seems like a good idea, is this likely to sell out?

He doesnt, no, he's organizing the event with a friend of his who rides and is mad into it - so hes handing the bike side and 45's handling the artside (although I can imagine after the night hell be riding in no time!)

Really looking forward to it! I dont know what to do about locking up bikes though... I only live just up the road so I dont have to ride down, but it'd be nice to - I can imagine itd make for some good photos to have all the bikes stacked there!

i doubt it will anytime soon, i just got one as i was at the ticket shop anyway.
looked like they had loads left.

  • I spoke to 45 about the locking of bikes situation last night and he says that bikes can be locked up in the garden out back of the cube (I've never been there so I dont know where abouts it is) but that should be much more secure than leaving them out front

  • Good news. That's swung it for me. I'm there.

  • i'll be there, looks like it should be a good evening. last time i was there was for a screening of roam.

if any of you have met me and you see me, say hello

  • Sadly I can't make it tonight but was hoping someone could pick me up one of the shirts that will be available! Still want to support the event as I hope there will be more like it in the future! Size small! Thanks! :-)

  • What a night! I can't believe how packed out it was, how good was that!?

Nice to see a few heads, Im sure theyll be a few more nods of recognition now from riding around, which is always good!

Props to Reg & 45 for the night, lets hope theres another one soon - Fast Friday & Macaframa perhaps!?

  • brilliant night, so packed out, couldnt even find anywhere for my bike!
where did all the fixed wheels come from? only seen a very very small fraction of what was on display there around bristol!

  • yeah so surprised with the turn out, some seriously nice bikes there aswell.

  • Bristol is finally coming together! I did not expect that turnout! They just sold out as I bought my ticket..some really nice bikes on display, most of which i'd never even seen in Bristol which was a bit odd. With such success I think another night is defs in order.

I second that - good fucking work, chaps - great night.
Just one thing - and this is me being a pedantic slag - 'No gears' is surely an inaccurate description, no? Otherwise, you'd be pushing it like the Flintstones or something...
