What's left of that? A Filson, presumably?
-
• #154
Yep, Insulated tin cloth cap or the wildfowl hat slightly lower to the left

I have been reading up on sizing. Akubra hats from Australia and other hat nerds just suggest folding kitchen paper towel and inserting it inside the hat band. It means it’s easily adjustable (i am currently shaven headed) and also helps absorb moisture. Some of the synthetic bands can cause moisture to leach out to the felt.

Tilley Wanderer at the front, DJ? Yours looks less knackered / sat upon than mine!

Tilley Wanderer
Great hats, excellent for water sports.
I'm big into Ciele caps at the mo. Functional for running, whilst jazzy enough for casual wear.

Is that a cloche hat, top left?

Definitely. The floating thing has saved me buying a new one several times!

Still waiting for it to get here. It’s in Texas waiting to be put on a plane.

That sucks.
I've been wearing mine a fair bit recently, caught in the rain on Friday and it kept the rain off my headphones and glasses.
Also been my go-to hat for barbecues to keep the sun off my bonce.Definitely consider another, lighter coloured one in the future.
Cognac is great, reckon your onto a winner there. -

I can still vividly remember leaving my favourite beanie on a train, running back to grab it and being just too slow. Train pulled off and I got to watch it sail past into oblivion. That was twenty five years ago, I need to get over it but it was just so perfect :’(

It arrived today. I was a little anxious - had I ordered the correct size. It’s near perfect. It came with some adjustment tape, enough to do the entire circumference, but it only needed 1/4 of the tape. Brim has a decent snap, it is a soft dress felt, I think one day I may get the 6x version for day to day use as this feels too nice to wear all the time.
Cognac colour is lovely and coordinates well with my two dogs. The hat does what I wanted, not a classic fedora or trilby style, so feels less stuffy or formal but will give me something to wear when I am going out and a beanie or cap are too scruffy.

Yeah favorite hats loss is a painful one. Salute.

What’s a recent baldy supposed to wear? Tatty straw cowboy hats have dropped off the radar, I don’t suit a trilby, Red Bull cap too 2016 F1 season, fedora LOL HAVE YOU EVEN INTERNET, snapback c’mon I’m in my 40s. I’m lost and getting sunburnt on top.

Or is it time to bring back the Tyrolean hat ala Lowly Worm?
-
• #174
Stetson open road, akubra campdraft. Not as dressy as a trilby.

Today I was mostly wearing a plastic hat from an Essex Oktoberfest.
