(cross over from the fashion thread)
Recently bought a Stetson Open Road

It is an XL, which is classed as 61cm, I am a 7 1/2 in New Era, which is about 60cm, so figured it would only be slightly large, but my head rattles around in it.
Anyone had success with hat resizing strips?
I ordered some to give them a go, hopefully it will bring it in enough (also have a fedora that is a little too big, so will try on that first) -

Kevin at JJs hats has videos on sizing strips
Start with one at the back, then at the front base well, followed by sides. Or if really too big put one all the way round.

On the subject of hats, if anybody has a massive head like mine and they struggle to find hats that fit, they're welcome to borrow my hat stretcher. Game changer!

US hats always seem to come up a bit large.

I have a Roxtons panama here in 61 / 7 1/2 with black band. Needs steaming and reshaping a bit where it must have got left underneath a heavier hat.
In two minds to use strips to make it fit my much smaller head, or offer it to anyone on-here who fancies a panama.

I love this...
If it had a slightly more rolled brim I'd be looking for a stockist tomorrow!

I don't wear hats enough to warrant a hat stretcher.
I also posted in the fashion thread - I buy from Village Hat Shop - It's US based, so you need to pay for international delivery, import duty and VAT, but they do hats up to XXXL, which is 65cm / size 8+, and even then they come up a bit big.
I have a 63cm head, and the XXL fits really well.

Brim is really stiff, reckon you could shape it relatively easy.
Mine is slightly upturned all the way round, how I want it really.

I got mine from https://www.hatsandcaps.co.uk/
Which is Village Hats in the UK.
Not sure if it's just the name, or if they are affiliated / can get larger sizes if needed -

Which model is yours? I’d like a 6x for durability and then a royal deluxe or pure open road for fancy times.

Have realised I may have a bit of a problem with headwear. There are also cycling caps, beanies and a few other caps around the house.

none of those, it seems to be a more basic version:
https://www.hatsandcaps.co.uk/stetson-hats-open-road-cowboy-hat-black-black/Isn't on Stetson USA, but is on EU site.
I think it is a more basic/ generic version. If i ever make it over the USA again, I will try and find a 6X and upgrade my hat game

With my pate, hats are an essential so I'll leave this here (numerous beanies, caps, casquettes, Davey Crockett specials etc. elsewhere).

Reminds me, I should sell a paper hat I bought but never wore.

SIWA tyrolean hat
by naoto fukasawa
This hat is made of paper produced by the centuries old Japanese process of washi suki. The addition of polyolefin fibers gives the material a soft texture. Soft Naoron does not emit noxious fumes when burned. The hat is durable, water resistant and suprisingly strong. The cotton inner lining makes it comfortable to wear. This tough looking hat is suitable for both men and woman.Anyone interested? Think I paid £40. Still new with tags, unworn

These are getting rarer to find, ever since the company folded.
I remember that poor deer, died raiding a millinery, always in our hearts.
Wife is making me a hat, I have lots.
As you were.
