I take your point, but for my mate this is what he wants, the idyll of France, vineyards, charming villages etc.... the question is how to find that whilst minimising the driving....
Yeah. I wonder if he wants vineyards but ultimately wouldn't made a difference?
I think you'd need to go down to Beaune area for good stuff.
Anyone got a good 100km loop from Reading? As much climbing as possible. @hippy, that’s your stomping ground no?
Just go north and ride up and down every hill you find until you get tired - there are plenty of testers round there!
Yes and no. I used to ride a lot around there but mostly A roads on the TT bike and clubruns in the hills before I had a GPS device. I'll see if I have anything.
Henley Hilly Hundred was the first audax my missus did. That's lumpy and close to Reading. Maybe you can base something off this?
Nice, thanks. Ended up planning this, actually have a bit less time than I thought so 85km will do.
Off to Siren for a tour and tasting after :)
Super lazy question. Anyone got a 'seaside loop' that one can get a train out to? Day ride type of thing.
Wanna do a slow sights sorta route with partner this weekend. Seaside is of importance.
There's the Viking trail around Margate
Was about 40 km and easy going.
That's utter perfection. Thank you.
It's been a while since I did it, but I think there some some cobbled/flagstone kind of sections since it's mainly a walking path. Opt for bigger tyres if you've got em.
All good, we'll both be rolling on 2.10's or so. Quite cushty
I think extero meant more like 32s but 2.1 will work as well 😂
Haha yes I was on 25c
What is this 32mm you speak of? There’s tyres that skinny??
