;946019']So here she is - my first Polo bike, finished yesterday... :)
Might want to get some foot retention sorted. You'll be skidding a lot and it just won't work with a front brake only.
Looks good apart from that.

I don't like those huge rear sprockets. they warp and like ray said are cheaply threaded
not that you listen to me anyway
They warp? Really?
They still look awesome.

Nice job, Venn. As far as ratio, easiest would be to drop from 44 to (as low as) 39. I ride 39:21, and it's alright. I'd like to get a 22 or a more, but it's not the end of the world as is.
Hmm - I'm limited by the BCD [144] Sheldon sez it can only take 41t chainrings - the one that's on there is pretty close at 44t; so close that its not really worth getting a smaller ring.. might as well wear it out and replace the cranks with a smaller set.

cheers - Yeah - I'm going to pikey some power grips on the pedals - I bought a pair for my road SS & ever since I've seen Josh with his tyre strips just bolted to the pedal [sorry again for the rip btw] I've considered them a waste of money. One problem atm is a completely fused old left pedal. Trying to replace the arm before I put the grips on.

Fair enough! I was assuming you had a more normal BCD (130/135). Swap the cranks ;)

i think all those new popping out trick bikes/frames are perfect for polo, but also a bit too good for a polo beater!?

• #859

i guess after watching the final at the worlds where 5 of the players were riding free then it is not much of a shocker. will be interested to see how you got on later skoota. catch ya down there dude.

i'm just dabbling for now, but i think that fixed upped my bike skillz and now i could compete on a free, my shooting will certainly be helped. I saw several goals that couldnt have been scored fixed and i'm an old man i my knees hurt sometimes. :(

i may have made some of that up to gain respect on the internet. but it's based on thought and good intentions so cut me some slack

I was riding into town when some drunken Chavez at a bus stop shouted "your wheel is gay" instinctivly I replied "so is your hat". I fear this could have grave consequences for polo disc riders out there, be careful folks, you could be abused today!
-
• #874
hey man i said your wheel was gay yesterday ... and you put my bike in a tree. :(
