A bit surprised to see Tarkowski end up at Everton, thought he would end up somewhere better than that. Hopefully they won't ruin him like with Keane.

There’s nowhere better than Everton, though. Sure, lots of teams play better football and win things but how many teams have a dog paraded in the streets through the smoke bombs and chanting before kick off and the manger singing with the fans on the roof of the dugout when they stay up?

Is he any good? He absolutely hobbled Richarlison (🥺) with a shithouse challenge that should have seen him sent off last season. But apart from that I can’t say I’ve seen much of him.

Well, we’ve got a coach who isn’t Phillip Neville so I’d say that’s improved our chances a bit.

He's the best centre half I've seen play for us (admittedly we were flirting with going out of the league when I started watching us).

Very strong, got a bit of an edge to him (but clever/legal with it, never been sent off for us), composed and really puts the effort in. Not bad on the ball but maybe not as good as he thinks he is at times. For a player so good in the air he doesn't score enough from set pieces.

He'd made it clear he was leaving at the end of the season but was still completely committed. A few games before the end of the season the team were down in Watford for a match. His daughter was taken to hospital so he ended up going up to Burnley, spending the night at hospital and driving straight back down just in time for the match. Similarly he came back from injury when not 100% for the last couple of matches of the season.

Cheers. We need more options in central defence. We’ve not ruined anyone but inconsistent coaching and lots of changes don’t make for settled teams or consistent runs of form. Keane did make quite a few errors but was good the last 5-6 games of the season (when he played). Scored an absolutely superb goal to peg back palace 2-1 in that game.

Richalison's tackle on thiago is one of the worst I've seen. Proper potential career-ender with the definite sense of malice about it.

I don't actually believe that, btw. Just running with this bizzare 'player puts in a bad tackle so deserves to be injured in a bad tackle' thought process.

It was a very bad challenge, he deserved the red card he got for it. However watching it in real time, he's really not that far away from the ball. It's a poor challenge, reckless and out of control and it was a shame that Thiago got injured from it. But in the heat of a derby, lots of players lose their heads.
