Chelsea wrestling the ‘stupidly flimsy defence’ title out of our hands.

The kepa and Zouma mix up sums up chelsea defence. Zouma poor pass back & kepa bottled the challenge 🙄
Positives. Pulasic start, played well.
werner getting a couple loved the turn for the 1st one and good to se Ziyech get a run.Edit. I also thought Kante had a good game.
Edit 2. Kai Havertz gliding round with new romantic cheak bones -

Another weekend of boring 0-0 draws I see

Some pretty psychedelic defending from us at the Bridge yesterday... I thought Timo looked sharp as fuck, reminded me of Diego's attack mindedness, totally zeroed in on goal...
Jorginho played very well, good performance generally apart from silly mistakes at the back... We still don't like being pressed, need to get a handle on that, it's something we've struggled with for a few seasons now... Still more to come from this group, feels good...

Yup. I’d more or less given up on the game this season, but still found myself checking the Leyton Orient score yesterday and getting pissed off when we conceded in stoppage time. But I can’t even go to my local non-league side Dulwich as they’re still considered a risk to crowds, it’s ridiculous. A lot of LOFC mates have taken to going to see Walthamstow instead to get their fix.
But today it’s the women’s FA Cup and Dulwich are playing Leyton Orient and amazingly you can actually attend this one, so for £4 I can see a live game. Yay.

Hackney Marshes today (attempt 3 to play our first league game - the first was called off at half time when an opposition player who'd been sent off came back with a weapon, the second due to a refereeing shortage).
2-1 down at half time, we battled back in the second half and got a (pretty lucky) penalty which snuck under the keeper to make it 2-2.
We get a corner in the last minute, I lumber up from the back, the ball is played in low and the defender and my teammate in front of me both miss it.
I catch it on the half volley on the six yard line, look at the goal gaping in front of me...and then see it bounce back off the underside of the bar and get scrambled away.
And then I lost my phone.

Younger readers might not know this, but Mourinho used to be famed for his sides' defensive setup and ability to shut down games.

Any stattos know if a Mourinho side has ever let a 3 goal lead slip?

Best start since 1930. Get in there. This is quite the start.
Only 28 points from safety now. -

^Doing a Leicester maybe (having fucked Leicester in the dying minutes yesterday!).
Emi Martinez doing a sterling job between the sticks. Rate the guy highly over the overhype of Pope/Schmeichel et al.

Nice to see Werner getting two goals and the linkup play with Havertz. Defence and pressing game is still to be improved upon.
Right now we’re just lucky that the teams supposedly challenging for a CL spot also keep dropping points. -

Yes - looks like being a cracking buy. Barkley making a big difference too in stopping Grealish being the only focus. And McGinn back in form.
Exciting times. -

no virgil for the next 4-6 months, our ever present, pretty much, for the last two seasons has ruptured knee ligaments, pisser especially as we sold lovren, leaving us with only three centre backs
pickford might have won everton the title with that tackle, COME ON VILLA

The season is 4/5 games old, if we're still there after 25 then maybe worth considering the possibility but a long old way to go. Very sad to see Van Dijk badly injured, I've long been a fan of Joel Matip, he's a better replacement than Lovren. Pickford rash and stupid but not malicious, hopefully Carlo will give him the push fairly shortly, though not sure if our alternatives are up to snuff. Pickford is not really up to it and never has been.

Let me guess, Pickford will pick up a minor training niggle in the run up to the game on the 20th Feb 2021...

Thought the guy was doing a great job to bounce back from that 9-0 and to bring Southampton back up the table with good football. After the mauling Spurs gave them and the almost Liverpool-esque refusal to adjust their defending I'm starting to doubt him. Once was awful, twice is shameful. It seems the comedy defending of Chelsea let them off the hook and maybe defending is dead.

Well, out for 6-8 months.

Outstanding GK, deserves first team choice with Villa. Sadly our loss.

shocked to see how many people still pay for football full stop. its almost as if live streaming is unheard of
He was kept on after the 9-0 last season and got them to a decent finish. I think he’ll be fine.
