  • It was a good game, I enjoyed it! Your lot played really well, I thought we were a bit sloppy... I'll take the point, another five minutes and we would've come away with nothing!

  • Shame Chelsea couldn't hold on. Martinelli looks a talent. Nice to see agent Luiz doing a great job.

  • A decent result for Burnley last night. Looking at our lineup we'll be storming the league come Brexit when they ban all the foreign players (or ideally, all the players born more than 50 miles from the ground).

  • In this day and age I dont think it serves any premier league team well to be proud of having an all English/British team. I think you're on a little shaky ground to positively assert something like this given that the the Premier league is a beacon of sporting globalism. But I guess it favours all those who love a 'keep britain british' etc. statement.

I recall Paul Robinson's article (ex Burnley keeper) about Dyche's regime at Burnley which smacks of 'Britishness'. I still hope one day Burnley will actually play a non-white footballer soon in the first team.

I don't buy into all the bullshit talk about Burnley being plucky underdogs, unfairly treated, locals against globals. They're a decent, well run football club that can play good football occasionally. They are still a little bit odd and eccentric.

Hate going to Turf Moor away not bacause of the purported style of football but some supporters are fucking backwards with the racism. It is not surprising that Burnley fans were reported for alleged hate crimes, including racism, more than any other club in England and Wales over the past two seasons. It is unfair on here when Tottenham, Chelsea and Millwall supporters get flak when in reality the stats show Burnley - you dont always hear that in footy chat.

Is this apart from Dwight McNeil playing in every single game this season and Lennon, Koiki and Goodridge on the bench?

I don't buy into all the bullshit talk about Burnley being plucky underdogs, unfairly treated, locals against globals.

I think it's largely come about because we're owned by some not that rich, (relatively) local businessmen rather than international conglomerates or dubious people trying to whitewash their reputation through sport and tend to live within our means rather than throwing money at it.

It is not surprising that Burnley fans were reported for alleged hate crimes, including racism, more than any other club in England and Wales over the past two seasons.

That's true, although the numbers are low enough that it isn't really statistically significant (17 fans over the last two years) and it's reported crimes, not convictions. I'm sure some supporters are fucking backwards with the racism but I wouldn't say it's any worse than a lot of other places I've been to (and a fair bit better than some).

On the positive side though I've seen people being told to fuck off and being reported to stewards for being racist. Things are improving and hopefully that will continue.

In reality, one of the main reasons most of our players are English is we have a shit scouting network. It was pretty recently that someone was recruited to expand it and, so far, it hasn't resulted in any signings.

  • its good to be back though Tim

  • I now hope Liverpool win this league at such a canter it’s an unbeatable record.

Records being broken every year is boring.

  • They will probably beat Reading's 106 points with 8 fewer games :(

  • toughest game of the season so far, wolves pushed us a bit too closely at times in that game, traore was unstoppable at full pace
1st goal conceded in the league since dec 4th which is a bit disappointing but can't moan too much

    coyrs

  • It all feels familiar, that’s for sure.

Let’s see if we manage to wake up for the West Ham game....

  • 25 years ago today ✊

  • I seem to remember watching that live on TV as it happened... Am I imagining that?

  • The Lego recreation is ace. hang on

  • Although you can't quite recreate a Roman salute with Lego hands.

  • Saudi Arabia sovereign fund looking at buying Toon

  • I’d almost forgive the well plethora of flaws/ human rights violation and others to no longer have to hear about Mike Ashley.

  • Blimey...last 16 after that win at Burnley...I think we're on a cup run!

  • West Ham looked shocking. We had a midfield duo of Barry and Brunt and pretty much dominated midfield throughout. First positive performance for 6 weeks. Glad you got to see that Tim after Stoke.
Also the legend of Boliler man grows #tapsnose

  • We’ll be trading places at the end of the season I reckon.

Didn’t see the game, listened to what I could and totally unsurprised by the result.

  • Ironically the only real evidence of bigotry is in your words.

  • So happy to be there today. Proper performance; the West Ham were shit too.

The appearance by boiler man made the day.

  • come on Shrewsbury. finish them off

  • Great game isn’t it, be lovely for them to be the first team to beat Liverpool this season
