  • It does look like Spurs controlled their anger issues better than ever yesterday. Only two yellow cards and Allí didn’t even get booked.

  • Just when you think Spurs have reached peak Spurs, they find a new level. They really are the innovators of the modern game, forget Pep, Bielsa etc. Looking forward to Jonathan Wilson's article on this very subject.

  • I don't understand how spurs fans can really be that annoyed with Pocchetino. He's made them a consistent top 4 finisher, given them an identity - made them very un-spursy (last night's result excepted), bought sensibly, taken them to a champion's league final and all without shelling out man city, or even man united levels of cash. It was only 8-10 years ago Tottenham were the 'finish anywhere between 11th and 5th club'. Losing Trippier seems to have affected the balance of their defence, and clearly players wanting out isn't good for morale. As embarrassing as last night's defeat was, it was a freak result. The fact that this is seen as a crisis is a reflection of how well Pocchetino has done.

  • Nothing's changed, they're still total bottle-jobs... That runs through the whole club, from the CEO to the plastic streaming the game at home on their laptop...

LET THEY WHO ARE WITHOUT SIN CAST THE FIRST STONE

    A beautiful post

  • I stream from home using the browser on my smart telly so I get full screen footy. I’m still chucking bricks at Spurs though because Derby are so much better and no where near as embarrassing to support.

  • I'd like to, but I can't see it. They turned around a 3-0 aggregate deficit in 40 minutes against Ajax. In the final they turned in a shite performance, but ultimately lost to a team that had beaten them twice in the league and man for man were quite simply better than them.

  • Two Seven Sisters would've been more accurate/easier to photoshop. 🤷♂️

It was hard to choose between the most embarrassing thing I saw last night. The Spurs result or the state of the memes thread.

  • It does look like Spurs controlled their anger issues better than ever yesterday. Only two yellow cards and Allí didn’t even get booked.

I think that they now take out their anger on each other rather than on the opposition.

  • To be fair, a Champions League final is a pretty good return for a club who were pleased just to be back in the competition a few years ago.

To be less fair, conceding 7 at home, fucking hell. When you keep hearing about how good Winks is and then you see him dribbling straight into Bayern players outside the box, and hear about Alderweireld's distribution and then see his shambles last night...oh dear.

  • Liverpool having a bonkers game right now.

  • that was quite some game

red bull were a properly zippy little team, from turn over to having the ball on the edge of our box took them about 10 seconds every time, we couldn't keep up with it, a new super counter attack style of football, very direct

they had some good players, the asian contingent ( not a racist ) in their team were all prety good quick and skillful and put virgil on his ass a couple of times

    squeaked it

  • Phew. Narrowly avoided a Spurs-like embarrassment last night.

  • Give it up, Clive, it’s well past it’s best before date.

  • Think of it as an ever ripening cheese.

  • I can smell it from here.

  • So weird watching Chelsea play in Europe without Hazard...

  • Did OK without him in 2012 and will again.

  • "life is just a journey, man"

  • It was an observation, I'm totally over him, or at least I thought I was... There was a moment where Mason Mount passed the ball to Alonso over on the left and I realised he would never be playing there for us again... It was an odd feeling...
