In the company of such smoky heavyweights as the Ardbegs, it won't stand up. However, I think its quite lovely straight from the freezer, syrupy and honeyed.

Missed out on this. Still good at £31, though!

Thankfully those were all tried over the course of a month. I had the WG over ice, so maybe it's better in the freezer. I (er, we) no longer have room for booze in the freezer, however.

I thought I disliked Ardbeg but those two changed my mind.

Uigeadail is amazing! My second fave after Lagavulin 16 I think

Any suggestions for any slightly unusual bourbons for under 30 quid?

Hudson is very good, especially manhattan rye.

Nothing wrong with that. I have phases where all I want to drink is Johnnie Black.

Not unusual, but Eagle Rare is my go-to bourbon and £30 on amazon.

Currently trying to justify a bottle of Redbreast 15 when I've not long bought the above.

Straight. It's thin enough that any ice drains the flavour so straight it's mellow, sweet and cheapy bourbon-y.

I would love to get a time machine and go back to 1987 and share a bottle of jack and a few quaaludes with Slash :(

It's a hefty cask strength smokey brute! You can smell it in the room the next day, like smokey bacon crisps!
