In related news, if you want to fit an OEM Mercedes reversing camera it's £1,300.

If you want to delete the secondary cats and remap it to ~500 bhp (chart below) then that's £1,400.

Which one to pick?

No brainer.

Some reversing cams work well (bentley SUV job, any tesla, most recent BMW/Merc with 360 cameras), just about everything else sucks, when wet you can't tell if its a blob of water on the lens or an entire pack of small children directly behind you.

Enjoy the standard power for a while first, then remap it. That way you get two doses of new thing joy.

A reverse camera in a C class is not worth £50 never mind £1300. Maybe in a Countach.

I'd agree with @Hefty, if it is the RMS it could be cheap compared to modern car pricing. I paid £500 for sump gasket, rear main seal, cam seals, water pump, and timing belt on my MX5 so I'd expect it to be similar pricing on yours, whatever you can budget for, get it done while the engine and box are apart.

With that said, do pay someone an hour to have a look at where they think it might be coming from before just getting expensive stuff changed.

If you want to do some investigation yourself, spend a couple of hours cleaning up the block with degreaser and good old fashioned scrubbing so that any fresh oil leaks can be exposed more easily.

However, it's not going to catastrophically fail if it's a minor leak. Just keep topping it up and you could be fine for years. If the leak gets worse and worse then it's time to investigate.

I do feel @Dammit 's pain. I bought a set of 19" Kahn RSV and had them refurbished in Bright Flitter for my Impreza. Then trashed one.

Had to buy another from the factory and have it refurbished to match, ouch!

Still wonder why I did it as the 19" wheels made for a shocking ride lol

Did the refurbishment include re facing or re cutting the surface? They look pretty crisp. Shame there's not 4.

Yep, recut the surface of all three. Means I have to find a fourth with enough material to cut to match.

How many times can you cut them?

Many of those diamond cut jobs look nice, but one little scrape in the clear and you start getting spiders, TFR is another that seems to make them got bad fast.

A couple of times I think, then you are screwed.

The area to look at (for these rims) is the depth of the area that has the AMG logo from the face of the rim - if there's practically no difference in height then it's been cut to the point where it can't be done again.

I think we are going to buy an L405.

We don’t use a car and when we do it’s once a fortnight for a very large shop or pan Europe road trips and this fits the bill greatly.

I’m ignoring the issues and thinking maximum comfort and size.
