Grande Comp Shot levers? Yay or Nay?

  • Does any one have any experience of the new Grande Compe shot levers.
    These:

    They look dead useful, as I like to ride with my hands over the stem when I'm bombing along.
    But are they any good?

  • Yep, pretty damn useful, well I say that, it's on the bars but haven't really needed to use it.
    The idea of having a lever that can be used by either hand is good idea, IMO, for emergency stops.

  • Thats what I was thinking. A taxi nearly took me out yesterday popping a U-turn whilst I was along side it, and I couldn't stand up or get to my brake in time cos I had my hands on the stem.

  • It's alright,but it's not as powerful as a goldfinger or dirt harry, plus see how the design of the cable get in the way of your finger;

    only way to fix this is to put it 90 degree down.

  • Oooh.Thats a handy bit of info.
    I was thinking of mounting on the otherside of the bars, so it was like a normal brake with a little added extra for when I'm riding on the stem.
    Stupid place for the cable though. Why doesn't it come out the underside?

    As for strength, I'm not tooo fussed. Its getting to the point where I think anything will be stronger then my sexy as fuck white Tech 77.

  • Oh it's not hard to squeeze the lever and mantain a decent amount of grip on the rims, so it's quite safe to able to perform an emergency brake (thought be careful doing an emergency braking, otherwise you'd go tits over bar)

    The little lever however is harder to pull than a Goldfinger, the bigger one is easier to pull than a Dirt Harry.
