Oh, @GwGs started a thread about the actual incident and all the gory details were picked through on the forum. And I thought I'd picked myself right back up and got on with life. Was on the Tweed Run a week later and leading a cycling tour of whisky distilleries a couple of weeks after that.

Turns out the psychological effects last a long time and brain trauma can just make you more fragile afterwards.

@greenhell Ascot :-) And the frame turns out to be even more knackered than it looked but I'm not bothered. Paid peanuts for it and felt back in the groove just doing it.

Shitebags. i hope you got a decent insurance settlement-I know it doesn't actually compensate for the lingering malaise these things leave you with but out of principle... Sounds like your situation is far worse than when I got hit by a car but I did get a massive consussion/fractured pelvis and was told months later that I'd got an adaptive psychological disorder as a result-whatever that means-so I can empathise.

I definitely don't get the same enjoyment out of cycling that I had before and have gravitated to more controlled track/off road pursuits as a result and avoid really busy roads like the plague. So more fragile, definitely but I think that's also self preservation kicking in! All the best for a full recovery and hope you'll be back haunting the halls of lufguss as before.
