I thought that was going to be about Wellingtons elite cycle lanes and cyclists

“The chairs flung backwards and we raced outside. The other two jumped on their bikes and I started sprinting down the road, but was like, what am I going to do now as I couldn’t keep up.”
Unlikely that he would have got very far in (presumably) road shoes.

“For him, the race was over.”
Quality.

3x 15k bikes casually left unlocked outside without thinking too much of it.
I personally wouldn't be able to enjoy my kebab, even if they were in eye sight -

It's New Zealand bro

Police were on the fella in minutes - seems legit.

After an event, do you go for a balanced meal....nah let's go for a kebab.
Do you get the elephants foot in NZ?
-
• #92759
It's the perfect balanced meal you heathen.
Protiens, salad, sugars and bit of carbs. Perfecto ✌️ -
• #92760
Even the elephants foot ;)

Protein and trans fats, what's not to like?
-
• #92762
Isn't 'trans' and 'fat' in a single sentence an instant win in right-wing bingo?

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

I’m on board about bright car lights
-
• #92765
Totally, some of them are f-ing ridiculous.
-
• #92766
Headlights on new cars are insane, It's like half of them are on full beam. I think I read the EU are consulting to bring in legislation to limit the brightness.
-
• #92767
The other option is to drive around without lights on… I see that a few times a week.
Which I can kind of understand in a city as it’s so well lit, but a few months ago I was driving between the A1(M) and Harewood House - November at 6:30pm - and there was a car ahead without lights on. How!?
-
• #92768
Maybe borrowed and so used to modern cars that turn on lights automatically they didn't realise they needed to do it manually?
-
• #92769
That’s the root cause, but when it’s on an unlit A road…
I had to hold right back, like gave them almost a km - I knew they were there, but they were invisible.
-
• #92770
Oh, assumed the (M) would have meant it had good (ish) lighting
-
• #92771
It does, but this was on the local A road off the motorway.
It’s so dark at this time of year, I have no idea how they were managing to navigate. XD

Eu /= UK anymore
But yeah, driving backwards and forwards to Lewisham everyday is dazzling. Are windscreens on new cars mega tinted to cut back the glare?

I had this a few weeks ago on an unlit NSL road. Pitch black. I can't comprehend how they managed to see anything.
Also on the subject of night driving on country roads, I have now also encountered a subset of motorist who insist on dabbing their brakes every 10 seconds. There was one I was behind where their brake lights lit up every time they turned off their main beams for oncoming motorists ?!

I'm in EU land innit !
It's was more a point that it's actually something that's been noticed and hopefully there'll be something done about it.
