Imagine if they were as offended by all the raping and racism in the force as they were by a little word.

Lynch called the title “inflammatory against a landscape of rising threats and violence against officers”, adding: “We should not be put at further risk for viewing numbers, our officers deserve respect, not humiliation for the job they are undertaking.
“It is incredibly dangerous to incite more negativity and misinformation against a public sector service that’s already under so much pressure.”
Yes. Because their stellar reputation with the public is so important. It's the TV show and not the last 45 years of policing that are to blame for why no one will take them seriously.
Thin skinned piglets, aren't they?

"Piglets" is a bit more pithy than "Student racist fascist rapists" tho.

Water companies shares rise after Ofwat announcement
If ever there was an example of how useless ofwat is.

It's just so thoroughly depressing. It's the nation's water ffs. Any other country would be rioting over it but we just sit there and take it.

Apparently my water company (Sutton and East Surrey) is one of 2 whose customers bills will not be going up along with Wessex Water

As this appears to have had a satisfactory solution of the woman in question getting released and sent home I have a question.
Don't passports remain property of the state and therefore a foreign country has destroyed the property of the Republic of Ireland?

It's the UAE, they do what they want. Destroying this woman's passport was a way to make her obey her husband. He'd got a court order banning her from travelling. The Irish state's ownership of the passport is a trivial detail.

Yes, you’re correct. So is is Nick_h.

Fucking hell, and people go on holiday there.
-
• #88345
I obviously don't know what happened any more than anyone else on here, but some of the reports say it was her husband who ripped up her passport (and his, too, apparently), not the UAE.

Because influencers and grifters espouse it as a sign of "I'm doing alright".

I've had to fly through the middle east on my way to Europe since covid, I fucking hate it but flying through Asia is so much more expensive now. I don't feel good about this choice.
