This has to be a good thing. I never knew some of the unrestricted ebikes went to quick!

meh
While most of the danger is to the rider and most motor vehicles are unrestricted I have a hard time seeing unrestricted ebikes as a big problem.

I commute on a cycle path and some of the unrestricted bikes are a menace. The path can get very busy and they try to carve their way through without slowing.

One of these is not like the others

I commute on a road and some of the unrestricted cars are a menace. The road can get very busy and they try to carve their way through without slowing.

A Tory sex pest with a coke habit that didn’t declare a £100k loan from a Russian. Racking up lines with a an offshore DBS bank card to boot.
Who votes for these cunts?

The thing that worries me most about the unrestricted ebikes is that parts and safety equipment aren't designed for constant use above 30mph. Bike helmets are tested at under 20mph, any kind of brake pad is going to wear out real quick doing multiple stops from 50 on a 20kg bike+rider and even things like grip on the tyres starts to change

Most of the ones i see are yout doing deliveries with their hood up. I am just waiting to watch one crash and burn.

I wouldn’t worry about ebikes - I saw a video of a e-scooter doing 50mph in the fast Lane on a dual carriageway. Total madness.

There's footage on Tik Tok of someone doing 40mph on one of those uni wheel things. Hopping up and down from road to pavement. Madness

This is what I referred to

He has got some skills tbf.

Techinically unregulated e-bikes are e-scooter, so not much difference.
-
• #71844
I would have said a bike would be more stable - with larger wheels, maybe not.

Mad skills

All these recent developments in small electric vehicles are an improvement on combustion engined vehicles, give young people freedom to travel and work within cities, and my hope is they will help with a shift away from car culture.
Nothing is worse than the kids on petrol scooters pulling wheelies up my street.

Makes me feel like roller-coaster vibes in stomach....

Hopefully it will also highlight how stupid it is having all mopeds deafeningly loud.
One person ordering a deliveroo shouldn't subject the whole street to a raging chainsaw sound.

The breakdown of kids mental health services in this country
https://www.theguardian.com/society/2022/apr/03/swamped-nhs-mental-health-services-turning-away-children-say-doctorsonly the future of our society, why would we invest in them....
95% of GPs say that CAMHS services are either in crisis (46%) or very inadequate (49%) – up from 90% when stem4 ran the same survey in 2018 and 85% in 2016
Half say that at least six in 10 referrals they make for anxiety, depression, conduct disorder and self-harm are routinely rejected because the young people’s symptoms are deemed not severe enough, even though they only refer the most at-risk cases
One in four say that 60%-100% of referrals for eating disorders and addictions are rejected
63% fear young people will come to harm due to lack of treatment while 58% have seen patients’ symptoms worsen, forcing them to go to A&E
Almost one in five (18%) of doctors surveyed knows of a patient who has tried to, or taken, their own life after being refused care.

Really, really sad times. My younger teen attempted suicide and was still struck off from CAHMS (for a 2nd time). Doesn't now trust or want to open up to anyone (as the article says) as feels angry and let down. So the GP referred said child for the 3rd time and we are still waiting. Private we can't afford, there are only short holdings (6 weeks at best) with charitable organizations. Our young peoples' futures are being decimated through the lack of support.
