Iffy electrics, flammable sprays used in electronics and moving parts, flammable coatings, lots of paper and cardboard, hairspray...

Reminds me of the woman who was giving my Indian mate an anti-racism event flyer but didn't give one to me, cos she thought it wouldn't be my thing. (And she didn't even know I was a Millwall fan!)

Brexit Tory MPs definitely aren't racists though, for sure

It's not as if one would expect an experienced MP, ex-lawyer and ex-marketing professional to choose their words carefully... That and her election campaign being pulled up for racist language too?
Edit: Oh it gets better (or worse): http://www.devonlive.com/anne-marie-morris-distances-herself-from-vile-racist-remark-made-by-her-agent-at-hustings-event/story-30365953-detail/story.html

what a shitty thing to even think never mind say. can we now expect a protracted media campaign that includes senior members of the BBC news editorial team implying that every member of the tory party and those that vote for them are racist by association?

Also
“The comment was totally unintentional."It can happen to anyone, right - you want to say one thing, then you just blurt out 1950s racial epithets.
"I apologise unreservedly for any offence caused."
Yeah - fuck you for being offended. Snowflake. My guess is that the tory voting constituents of Newton Abott don't give a fuck though.

I hate it when I'm unintentionally Alf Garnett. I'm sure it happens to loads of really good people, and it's not just that a lot of Tories are barely managing to mask their disgusting views.
Just like that homophobic Isle of Wight Tory who decided it was time to retire shortly after outing himself as a massive cunt.

I'm trying to get my head round the teachers' pay increase of 1%.
The STRB report says that a pay increase of more than 1% is necessary, but that because the government won't fund it, it cannot be implemented.
The government says that the STRB report recommends a 1% uplift, so they won't fund any more than that.
Actually the report says teachers on the Main Pay Scale should get an uplift of 2%, but I can't see anywhere if thar recommendation will be followed.
The whole thing is just baffling.

Who'd have a thought it, Tory brexit mp that's a massive racist! I'm shocked.

Our college is fucked in terms of funding already, and the government have said that any increases need to come from the school's own budget.
If they're not trying to drive schools into bankruptcy (or into the jaws of predatory academy chains like Harris - led by a Tory donor, coincidence I'm sure) then it's incredible how much that seems to be what's happening.

I assume that every time theresa may appears in front of a camera she'll be asked if all torys as massive racists and what are they going to do about the racism problem in the Tory party.
-
• #46590
Excuse my ignorance but what does "nigger in the woodpile" even mean? I can't fathom whether it is meant to be a hidden problem, a hidden gem, an obvious thing that is being ignored, an obvious thing that is high priority, or what?
I mean, it's one thing to use horrible racist language, but to use horrible racist language that is not very communicative just takes the biscuit.

"nigger in the woodpile"
-
• #46592
meaning "some fact of considerable importance that is not disclosed—something suspicious or wrong".
That doesn't seem contextually in keeping with what she was saying, at least certainly not in any illuminating way. This whole sorry episode just gets more meaningless.

Why would you let just 8 relatively recent incidents ruin it for the entire party?

Like a political party internal enquiry? Is it like a jury of drivers, do you think - there but for the grace of god sentiment?

Ah, yes. So maybe something stronger than a wrist slapping kit.
