  • put more tarmac down, and there wont be no gaps, and it'll be level

  • and widen one end of the court. and add a roof. and an open bar.

  • You just volunteered for that job gabes.

  • well i think you're spoilt i'd love a court like that out west

  • i'll do it, if someone get's me a quarry truck full of hot tarmac and a massive roller.

  • and a way to get them on the court.

  • guys i hve some long thin boards at ours that Mike has used at Brick Lane before.
I am not taking it with me so you are more than welcome to pick it up, even after i leave.
Speak to Mike, he knows where they are, you can have it all for free.

  • i'll do it, if someone get's me a quarry truck full of hot tarmac and a massive roller.

funny how you ask, i've had that kicking around the back garden for AGES....

  • this?

  • we're gonna need a bigger truck

  • Played my first game yesterday (thanks to everyone for allowing my super low bike skills), it was loads harder than I was expecting but I'll definitely be playing again sometime in the future.

  • i know some of you have no love for brick lane, but just ran into some council dudes at the court. they said they're filling the gaps in the fence this weekend. it'll still be less than level and not quite a rectangle, but still - nice.

  • That is nice!

  • Brick Lane + no gaps in fence + summer = win

  • i liiike.

  • ACE! I wrote to them last week, not believing that anything would happen. Not that i'm taking credit for this at all, but i'd like to think with the badgering that everyone has done over the last months we might get this playable again. Woop!

  • P.s. I just posted in another thread - there's an Islington Gazette photographer coming to Downham Road this Sunday. It would be nice if there was someone playing polo there.

  • Errr.

  • Yeah, a lot of people have been on the case. There are couple of guys who live across the street who have even supported the cause in our favour. And I know Ray was in touch with some sort of community group months ago. Nice work all round.

And they said they were doing the work this weekend. If that means Saturday, Sunday, or both, I don't know. So it may not be a Brick Lane weekend quite yet.

  • great news. brick lane is famous. or something. bricklanesundaysyeah!

  • Damn. Now we won't be able to get those lost balls back.

  • goal size fail... but hey beggars cant be choosers... i might actually start scoring on a sunday.

  • Unlike Mitch, Broadway, and Newington?

Pylons ftw. And we can keep them at Matt and Vic's! ;)

  • Cool, I might be able to make it if my other half has the added excitement of shopping near by :-)

  • yeah, brick lane in summer is ace. great!
