  • The idea of this thread is for anybody to talk about tricks, skids and anything else related.
So those of you that are using the TrixieDix thread to do so at the moment now have a designated thread!
Also, anybody who doesn't understand a trick or just wants to boast can use this thread too!

    Use at you own risk!!

  • I did this already and was much ridiculed!

Theres a trick specific forum called tricktrack, that tom mosher etc regularly use. Probably best to head there.

  • Isn't the point of the TD thread that it is designated for precisely the above stated purpose?
N + 1 ought to apply to bikes not threads

  • Well i did a search and I didn't come up with anything. I also checked posts that have been replied to within the last 5 days and still nothing came up. So I decided to make my own.
Either join in or sod off.
    Thank you ;-)

  • Yeah I found that other thread and there were like 7 posts and that was it.
There was another interested thread that came up and it was completely about boasting. I'd like to use this one to just discuss stuff.

The trick track one did bring up one useful site to look at for tricks. It's a forum specifically for tricks on fixed. It's called Trick Track and it's here: http://tricktrack.freeforums.org/index.php

Is it still ok to use the trixiedix thread? How will I know if my trick related question or comment goes in this thread or that thread. Is there any guidelines for posting? Can we maybe draw up some basic trick thread guidelines to avoid confusion

  • Feel free. If it would make you feel more comfortable then I will allow you to draw up some guidlines for people to use this thread and TrixieDix then we can moderate them ourselves too(!)

  • "you will allow"? How fucking magnanimous of you. Prick

    No, you're a prick.

  • So what if there's two WHOLE (yes, whole!) threads on tricks, theres millions on everything else.

    Horse, high, get down.

    Firstly...welcome to the forum lurker.
I see the idea behind this thread and there's nothing wrong with that...but you're kind of coming across as a bit 'i'm taking charge' here....would it not have been better to ask peoples opinions on whether they felt such a thread would be beneficial?
You're kind of just telling people to stop using the trixie dix thread now and come over here and start using yours...the people who have been involved with the whole trixie dix thing are pretty passionate about it and it comes across as a little disrespectful to not at least discuss it first on their thread.
I understand that it's your right to start whatever thread you want...but telling people to either 'join in or sod off' is coming across as a bit agrressive for someone who is still pretty new to the forum.
You also now have people asking YOU if it's still ok to post on the trixiedix thread...like i say...that's not fair on the people who started it.You're now talking about writing your own guidelines about who can post what on which thread.
    Just my opinions of course.
I've now joined in...so i'll now Sod off.

  • I can ride my bike with no hands

  • I can ride my bike with no body!

  • photoben can, i have seen him do it

  • Oh my god. You arrogant cunt.

  • you tell 'im em.

  • So are any tricks gonna be discussed here or what?

I got a few down lately that I have been working on...

  • i saw that little kid (keanu?) do a skid while doing a wheelie... that was bloody impressive seeing i cant even do a wheelie to save my life.

  • I wanna learn how to do a wheelie without feeling like the bike is going to whip out from underneath me... most I've ever done is about 10 meters but I think it may have been a fluke. Is there a secret or is it just hours of ungraceful practice?

  • Ungraceful practice, aswell as taking it easy, ie not pedaling like a madman, and controlling your pedaling.

Saw a lil dude on a white fixed with rear arrospok doing wheelies, and mid wheelie doing a little hop, was nuts, that's almost impossible?!

Friend has recently started to do no handed hops on his fixed, riding back from work he'll just de hand the bars and do a 2 wheel hop (not front first)

  • I learned by just going to the same spot and having a distance to wheelie... the first time it was impossible, I kept going back to the same place and it gets easier every time you try. Every bike is different to wheelie, if you have something with tight geometry it makes it a hell of a lot easier cos you are more over the back wheel. Also putting your saddle right back helps a bit.

  • on topic -

i'm struggling to pop up to a wheelie without pulling on the bars - anyone have any tips on how to do this?

    andy?

  • If you are trying to do a no handed pop-up type wheelie...? then its all in your grip on the saddle if you know what I mean. Use your thighs. If you are trying to do a wheelie (regular) then its a combo of both pulling on the bars and pushing down on your leading pedal...

    Hope that helps!

Could you not detect the amount of sarcasm I put in there?!
I did, if you'd read the TrixieDix thread ask about it and several people suggested that I start my own thread for this. The whole intention on the TrixieDix thread was to arrange the actual event, hence why it's in the 'Rides' section of the forum.
All I was trying to do was to put a more obvious thread on the forum for people to talk about tricks.
I also added the 'join in or sod off' comment 'cause I knew peopl like you would get on your high horse about it without reading everything else that has been discussed.
I definitely don't feel like I'm trying to take over, just help people that don't feel confident enough to start a new thread like this.

Just to clarify: I'm sorry if I've offended anybody by starting this thread.
