MTB diameter road Bars

Posted on
  • Hi,

My brother just bought these: http://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/productdetail.asp?productcatalogue=BLAWHBAP200 for his racer which currently has a straight bar with shimano sora shifters/brake lever units on(inergrated clamp). However.. the shifters/brake clamps don't fit over the new bars which are slightly wider diameter (26mm road) and I assume his straight bars are something like 24-25mm. As he doesn't want to buy new shifters/brake levers does anyone know where you can buy the time-trial style road bars in a non-road size (25mm?) diameter? I have looked without success...

    Cheers for any info

    Tim

  • MTB bars are 25.4mm stem clamp, but 22.2mm (I think) at the grips/lever clamping area. I doubt you'll find road bars that thin
