  • Appreciate the direction advice and concerns, but as Howard says, clockwise or anti depends on the side you're looking from. Simply stated, I am, attempting, to turn it toward the back of the bike, ie in the motion the wheels would be going backward. I've got the wrench on the inside and have stood either side of bike trying to move it toward the back.

Seeing if I can locate a cooking blowtorch next...

  • Yeah. Depends if he's looking at the back or the front of the crank whilst he's doing it :)

    edit: as above, rly.

Oh man I'd love to get a four foot cheater bar on that and pop the thing off fo yo. The satisfaction would be IMMENSE.

  • ok cool, just wanted to be sure. you can get more leverage on it with a long ring spanner or shifter if you dont have a strong bit of pipe. i would try that next, leverage is ultimately what you need here and saves buying a blow torch.

  • turn the wrench or whatever towards the back of the bike to remove

    This.

    Really.

  • Am on the pipe hunt!
