Awareness Raising Spoke Cards Campaign Project?

Based on adoubletap's comment on the most recent 'rider down' thread:

***Spoke cards?
"Don't fuck with trucks" "If his wheels are bigger than your wheels, wait" etc. etc.
Some stats + bullet points and the diagram of the blind spots from a lorry cab at a junction.

Hundreds/thousands of them attached to every bike we see locked up on the street wherever we go.***

I'm not suggesting spoke cards are a panacea, but they're easy to disseminate, and work at street level (a bottom-up solution, if you will).

There's a graphic of HGV blindspots on Moving Target somewhere, which could go on one side, and a slogan (as suggested by adoubletap or similar) on the other side.

Anyone want to start knocking up ideas? Paypal donations for printing costs?

I'm too busy to artwork it, but the image I have in my head is a massive oversized truck bearing down on a little bike, for the graphic/slogan side.

Brilliant idea! Have Zero design skills but can help with printing costs and laminating, etc...

This is a great idea, I volunteer myself for laminating work, where was that post from ages ago that had some graphics about the trucks blind spots?
I seem to remember they were quite colourful and ideal for this sort of thing..

this is a great idea, but can i suggest we dont have swear word's in the slogan. We don't want to alienate people from the start

I like 'Don't fuck with trucks' but think that 'Don't fuck with the truck' sounds better.

A friend of mines father used to have a great saying but is way too wordy as a slogan IMHO 'Better to arrive late in this life, than early in the next'.

I would be up for screen printing a bunch of these. Also wouldn't mind having a pop at designing something once everyone's decided what they should actually say.

i think that if the card is to communicate with cyclists right across the board, it would be better without the swearing. ahem.

Not sure fuck rhyming with truck is that great. Maybe something a little bit more universally accessible like "If you cant see my mirror i cant see you". Obviously something a bit more punchy but...
