  • I am officially out. It is going to absolutely lash it down. Yes, HTFU etc.

    Source?

  • Sauce?

    ketchup, please.

  • goggles? check. snorkel? check. legitimate reason to not leave the house tomorrow morning? check.

  • Is there an agreement of a start time, to chat and to see who is sporting what colour socks for the autumn season etc?

    Train arrives at 08.30h.

  • Bum... unless weather picks up I'm bailing as well...

  • Train arrives at 08.30h.

Heading down with my neighbour and his mates, so not sure exactly what time I'll get to HH, probably about 8.30.

Hopefully I'll see some of you on the course.

  • I am currently drunk and expect to be in the paincave in t-minus 2hrs. I'm coming out fo' sho' but it's going to be ugly. Ugly.

  • I did it two years ago on a day like tomorrow is forecast to be. Most of the challenge is mental, so accept you're going to be wet from the off and enjoy the ride.

  • bugger not enough clearance to fit the crud road racers i have bought on my roubaix with the tyres i am running...

    sorry anyone riding behind me!

  • Just try not to slip!

It's a bit early for actual falling leaves though, you have that to look forward to in a few weeks, slippery leaf mulch under your wheels as you slither uncontrollably toward your doom.

  • luckily there aren't any steep hills on this one...

    oh... shit...

  • viner rider and i are aiming to get to hh about 0830.

  • I'll aim to meet you there. Putting the mudguards on in a minute and looking all the gear out. I am now psychologically committed to this thing, and that's the hard part done.

    right?

    right?

    definitely.

    right?

85 inch fixed tt bike with aero bars and mudguards?

    Win.

  • Haha I wish. Gears for this one, even if it's with a bent cassette and chainring.
Will encourage some non-big-ring-riding for a change.

Unless you want to join me on the tandem? Though the mudguards for it are elsewhere at the moment.

  • just checked the forky.

    light wind and light rain.

    no problemo.

    see you all down there.

  • To tights or not to tights? That is the question.

  • 3/4 bibs, overshoes, gloves, thin jersey and rain jacket. sweaty sweaty.

  • So what time are we meeting up? [/fucked]

  • i am up for earlier rather than later as the weather is going to get worse as they day goes on, they reckon

  • Slight cold on Thursday night + getting rained on yesterday + out drinking and karaoking till 3:30 last night = a chest that hurts like fuck and coughs up all sorts of cap.

Health and safety means I'm bailing.

    No surprises, I'm sure.

Andyp, please don't say anything. I know what you're thinking.

  • Am I thinking that sounds like the sensible thing to do?

  • I will be there at 08.45h. At the moment the forecast is get drenched at 10.00h and late picknick with sun at 13.00h. Listen to that rain :-/
