I'm sure they will reply....
This guy Fernando on Gumtree (in Whitechapel) was selling my mate's Planet X Pro Carbon which was stolen a couple of days ago. He's got quite a few other bikes on there worth looking at if you're hunting something that's been nicked in east.
I just had a look at Fernando because of @Eosnme s stolen Bianchi. Seems like he took all ads offline. Attached is a screenshot of the bikes he had online at the time maybe it helps somebody.
However, congratulations on your heist getting the PlanetX back! Felix told me about it.
Anyone missing a fairly rare Condor in Woodford Green area, it looks like one listed on stolen bikes website a few years back. Guy also has a very cheap Islabike Luath
This reeks to high heaven.
Surly Long Haul Trucker, £350, Peckham.
Anyone have experience with this kind of place?
I’m fairly certain I bought my girlfriends bike from him when I knew a lot, lot less “works great, fully serviced” kinda bullshit but I had to learn a lot fixing that thing to a usable state by the time we got it home.
I remember questioning him and he gave me some dodgy answer about police auctions, which I apparently bought into, but it’s really just a storage warehouse full of bikes by a guy with zero bike knowledge, claiming to be a mechanic but is just all talk. Apologies if this particular ad is real/a different guy... but.... I doubt it.
Fishy, although it is quite rusted so could be legit
selling for 480, I sent him a text to ask for frame size and he rung me straight away saying hes willing to drop the price and could drop it of tonight. The balls on this guy...
7 other biek listings in the last 2 days... Posting for under a month... Pictures in flat stairwell...
Dodgy as fuck.
Seller also selling this bike https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/211146683850632/?ref=product_details&referral_code=undefined
But all the photos are of a bike in a bike shop - very suspect?!
He's added three more bikes and a Segway scooter since yesterday.
That’s taken in Wilson’s Cycles in Peckham... been in there countless times and the seller doesn’t remind me of anyone I’ve ever met in there
That ad looks very dodge, seller copied and pasted some unrelated description, e.g. the ad says it’s hydraulic disc brakes when it’s clearly not etc: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cannondale-slice-carbon-/174529004824?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292
Seller’s other item is called “Dura Aca di2 grupset”.
I dont see anything about di2 in his description.
He say about brakes which are hydro and correctly he dont mention anything about disc
Magura brakes are Hydro rim brakes, those are not cable operated FYI
Overpriced if anything really
Thanks, didn’t know about the Magura.
The Di2 (Dura Aca) referred to this ad: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dura-Aca-Di2-Grupset-/174482433623?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292
Maybe it’s the seller’s broken English, but I find the lack of details someone who knows what they are selling would mention a bit dodgy.
I see. ...
Even that Aca is overpriced... more likely someone bit backwards rather then dodgy ;) but hey ho ;)
I’ve trawled through this thread for a few pages, yeah, much dodge, mine is more like me overthinking perhaps :)
£25 Cervelo with a Colnago head tube badge
For 25 quid and looking at the photos I don't think that's suspicious. Looks like a skip/tip find to me
‘ Black and blue surly downside push bike all customized collection only all been checked by police proof can be given ’
Deleted. Seller produced receipt.
