  • what ed meant is go for white rims, summer's soon.

  • That's what I thought he meant, must have read wrong aha

  • Had a great first ride on this tonight. The setup works ever so slightly better with the 110mm stem and deep drops than my previous Dolan, and it feels so light and fast that even riding into the wind felt like it took less effort than it should.

All that's remaining is a wig chop and a brake hole drill. Only rode it one mile to Herne Hill brakeless on track gearing, but I'd rather not do that again.

I also have my eye on some new wheels at some point soon, so the beater Dolan can have these Pro Lites. Decent wheels, but I paid £20 for them and sometimes that's obvious.

  • Ellipses

  • That's the obvious answer.

American Classic 420s are also attracting my attention with their subtle decals and stealthy white spokes.

  • I was also looking at FFWD discs and five-spokes in the Paligap catalogue today.

    One day...(not soon)

  • Tommmmmmm do you chaps do Sidi anymore?

  • I'm afraid not. We're pretty lacking in the quality shoe department other than the S-Works and Mavic Zxelliums

  • American Classic 420s are also attracting my attention with their subtle decals and stealthy white spokes.

For about half the price you could have 24h Kinlin XR380/Halo Caliber on Novatec with CX-Rays

  • AC are cheap on trade...

  • That's lush. How're getting on with the modolo levers?
I could never get used to mine...

  • Thanks!
Yeah, I see what you mean, I quite like them but they're not the easiest to brake with while riding "hands-on-hoods" though..

  • LOOK at that LOOK

  • I'm afraid not. We're pretty lacking in the quality shoe department other than the S-Works and Mavic Zxelliums

I'd forgotten about the S-Works, do they last longer than 3 months before coming apart these days?

  • Mine still in one piece despite being abused as my only cycling shoes.

It got a lovely modification of duct tape on the ventilation to stop my feet from getting cold in winter.

  • finally got my first roadie back from the LBS with everything in order!

put it through approx 300km over the weekend on flats and climbs. well happy. still needs little adjustments and no doubt will bne subject to upgrades as i go! so far well happy with the result. mine is on the right!

  • is that the one I sold you?
    looks great

  • indeed it is! love it..

  • here's my next one, i have to collect the forks as I had re clear coated and freshly decaled, was owned by a member of the Rabobank under 23 team and is my correct size

    glad you're enjoying your bike

  • i was thinking of cosmics, there are some shops selling kysrium 's at not much more

  • i'm pretty new to this road bike lark so i cant tell you much about the cosmics. I purcahsed them more because i was so happy with my ellipse plus wiggle were doing them at a good price i thought. they are perfect for me right now. and until i get a bit more experience with this setup i wont be doing a huge amount to it i dont think. i am hoping that these will end up being my everday wheels if/when i move back to the UK and i need to commute with this setup.

  • i heard they're good and strong for winter, i was thinking of de stickering if I got them

  • oh yes.. will remove decals this week. if only the MSW was black also!

  • Nice. Is that seatpost carbon or alu?
