  • So with the addition of some Omniums I've just about finished building the most boring/generic mash build ever. Although due to a knee injury I'm probably going to end up swapping to straps and risers whilst I'm only using it for shorter rides.

  • I've just bought some Gore Ride-On Professional brake cables. Hopefully make the braking smoother on my road bike.

  • ^^Looks pretty damn nice if you ask me... nothing boring about that.

  • ^^^ nice build. Very tasteful.

  • A nice clean build is never boring

  • I've always harboured a secret desire for a Mash, but resent paying that much for a frame I don't really have any need for. Now my secret's out: closet salve, the shame.
Maybe I should order a Mielec

  • Dan, i feel the exact same way about the mash

  • Me too, feel exactly the same every time I look at mine... Resent soon turns to love whenever I ride it though.

  • good to know I'm not alone.

  • My Mielec should be ridable this weekend, but the only wheels I have which would fit and don't have notchy bearings are Tufo S3 20mm tubs on Mavic Reflex on Campag Record.

    Don't think it'll get ridden.

  • nice wheels

  • With tyres that narrow I'd scratch the rims on some of the roads round here!

  • I just got an email from crc telling me my order had been dispatched, turns out I got tanked and bought some panaracer paselas for no reason. Bye bye £45.98!

  • I've just bought some Gore Ride-On Professional brake cables. Hopefully make the braking smoother on my road bike.

Are you using stock pads? (although SRAM usually use Swissstop pads).

If the braking isn't quite smooth, it's usually down to set-up rather than cable.

  • Just finished off my parts bin build. Went for a spin in the sun. Total joy. Still need a few tweaks, going to change the drive chain at some point and add a clamp on brake(maybe F&R) as riding 52/16. I may have gotten carried away with the pictures, sorry.

  • Are those bars actually symmetrical? :-/

  • Feeling rather good right now!

not to much more to get (already got a few things in the shed) can't really tell in the pic but the yellow on the frame is actually luminous, red is pretty bright to, nicer than i expected actually.

Now i plan to sit here sipping a bit of whisky feeling rather smug with that lot sat in front of me.

  • Are those bars actually symmetrical? :-/

i hope so,.....runs off to check......

  • ^^It's not even 4 yet! Sun is definitely not past the yardarm...

  • I think it was the angle of the picture. They look symmetrical in real life and have the same amount of bar each side of the stem.

  • Now i plan to sit here sipping a bit of whisky feeling rather smug with that lot sat in front of me.

Sipping Bell's? Buy yourself a proper dram and have yourself infinite more smugness.

  • Not my style, don't see the point in spending loads of money on something that will just get pissed out a few hours later

  • Grand Marnier/ Congnac 3 ice cubes splash of 7up

... or maybe not that kind of Party

    nice parts regardless

Should have just bought some special brew then, or just bought a bike from decathlon, much cheaper.

  • Thanks for the useful advice
