Using a rimbrake rim for disc usage, is it possible without dying?

• #130481

Very nice! What brand are the bidons??
-
• #130486
is it possible
It's what literally every disc brake wheel was before rim manufacturers started making disc-specific model

Yeah, makes sense!

Made some updates on the Marin
- New old 8 speed wheel set to match the shifter running indexed
- Paul thumbies
- Cheapo Ergotec bars, slightly wider and with less sweep back than the previous Nitto Albatross.

I just saw this on x-biking! Very good, treat yourself to one of those cheapo brake boss mount racks!

Cheers, yeah this is probably the sensible choice combined with a Wald basket.
The Pelago Rasket looks a solid kit as well, the basket size seems just right. Pricier and probably a bit heavier as well. And I can not decide for black or silver finish.
Luxury problems. :) -

The Rasket i a really nice bit of kit!
I can only speak for the silver finish, but that ages really well. -

WTB Ranger 2.4 - on
Vigilante 2.3 front, Trail Boss 2.25 rear - off
Shaved almost 500g off the total weight, and fits my current style of riding a lot better.I haven’t serviced these forks since I purchased the bike in 2019 (I know, I know) - they’re ridden probably ~200 hrs. Are they ruined? Will I notice the improvement from something a tiny bit more premium, e.g. a flavor of Rockshox Reba?

I haven't serviced my Marzocchi Shiver SC since I bought it in 2004 😳

The forks are probably still fine, if you're happy with how they ride I would go for a service. It's not too difficult and the parts are available, gives you an opportunity to inspect everything too.

Epic fail thread >>>>>>

It still goes up and down at a controlled rate, I'd call that an epic win but it's just what happens when your fork is made by a suspension manufacturer rather than a bike manufacturer.

Air forks need a lot more servicing than coil forks, still wouldn't hurt to change the oil though.

Definitely in the miscellany slot, working on this bike for a friend and first thing I did was grind the brake clamp down and replace the bolt.
Much more finger friendly now.

Excellent, in one way at least your legs will soon look like hippy’s.
