I cannot get my calliper aligned with my rotor. There is about a 1mm gap on one side of the rotor to the pad when the other side is touching. I’ve tried all the other caliper alignment tricks.

Can I put washers like these ones circled on the other side of the fork mounts to move it over a millimetre or so or does the adapter need to be fully up against the tab for some reason?

You can buy shim washers for IS mounts.

So are you inferring that it would be fine?

Turned a budget 650c track bike into something a bit more useful for my partner. Many hacks and bodges. If she likes it I’ll get proper rear brake and bottle cage mounts sorted along with a lower rear bridge to allow a matching rear brake and a better seat collar. If she really likes I’ll look into a thread less steerer swap to loose the adaptor, trim some weight and increase flexibility. I’n the meantime I’ll sort the mudguard stays.

Nah you're bang on, it's a junior track frame with small wheels so needs the high BB.

Hoping it's not too sketchy with steep angles and all the weight on the front. Suspect i'll be building her something a bit more chill at some point but she seems to like it!

If nobody closer can help, I have a beater grade silver Kalloy SP-248 (scratched to hell and chopped from 400 to 300 by previous owner) you can have for postage

I have no idea how to size a stem for flat bars. Care to make a ballpark guess?

I currently ride 40-42cm short reach drop bars with a 90mm stem.
CP will have nearly same stack/reach, and 66cm ritchey 10° bars.

I'm thinking shorter stem to account for the much wider contact points, though I may chop the bars a little if the width is too much.

IME due to flat/riser bars having a lot less reach than drop bars, you'll want a slightly longer stem (assuming same frame geo).
I'd try the 90mm stem if that's what you've got, you may want to go longer. 66cm bars are fairly narrow relatively, so likely you'll need 100-110mm.
