• I purchased an old Falcon Ernie Clements frame (prob 60's). Has 57cm top tube and is 126mm spaced at the back with forward facing horizontal drop outs. It has a nice headtube badge. It has recently been enameled and has not been used since then. Would make a good fixie !

No idea of the tubing but I'd assume its 531. Sheldon mentions them http://www.sheldonbrown.com/falcon.html

The plan was to build it up as a classic racer - however I am far too lazy ! Anyone want to make me an offer on it ?

    Not looking for much !

    Cheers
    Tim

  • My first proper road bike was a white Falcon from Halfords. Saved up my pocket money (I was 13) for weeks to buy a Campag Nuovo Record rear mech from a clubmate.
I remember riding on my own from Saddleworth to North Wales, going like a train. When I turned around I realised I'd had a following wind all the way. Struggled as far as Wrexham before phoning my Dad to come and pick me up.
    Happy days... :-(
