  • What's up with the 6-month warranty on the Tesco special? *Everything *in the EU has a 12 month warranty, it's just that after 6 months the buyer has to *prove *a manufacturing/design error to get a refund, whereas before 6 months the shop has to prove mis-use or accidental damage to not refund. The warranty period remains the same though - I don't know of any special clause to reduce a warranty to six months even if the buyer agrees to it. Might get on to Trading Standards about that, it's a piss take.

  • This is Tesco we're talking about, it's how they make money (and lots of it).

  • what. a. waste.

No, it's a "mere puff", as that angle in advertising in known. You have no rights, no recourse, nothing; it's where caveat emptor comes into play.

And Trading Standards is a thing of the past.

Bend over and expose your arse to the corporate barbed-wire pole, trash-boy.

    Needs front disk brake.

Why is trading standards a thing of the past?

  • Now goes to Consumer Direct, whereby you get ficked around by a call centre 19/12 and can't speak to your local TS people. Endless procedural and paperwork hoops are placed in your path to absolutely minimise the number of people who have the life force to see it through, presumably to it can be shit-canned later on due to "lack of demand". Even if you do stick it to the bitter life-diminishing end, they do absolutely fuck-all.

  • Agreed... red chain is purely functional

cost the exact same as a chain with no paint, I have used a yellow chain before because its all they had, my chain was fucked and it was only £7 so why not...

  • i like your bike, it is definitely functional.

  • What's the function then, J?

So don't dick about if you have an issue - go straight to litigating the matter through small claims. Simple online procedure, cheap, and gets people's attention.

  • there seem to be quite a few of this type of bike in london ? small front 650 in 700c fork
is it because they can't they afford lo-pro's ? but still like the constant downhill effect ?

  • It's because most normal road/track frames won't bar spin with full sized wheel in place. Not that many of the hipsters riding them can do bar spins, or that they wouldn't be better off getting BMX if they want to do tricks, but that's why they do it.

  • dont want to be mean but check out the last bike posted in the stolen bikes thread. even the owner admits it looks crap.

  • Repost, I know because Its from the footdown gallery which I scoured for ugly.
