  • Back to the OP and possibly a sensible answer - if you mean by pushing as in walking and it sounds like you've made some changes to your bike, is the chain now too tight and causing it to bind slightly?

  • run high ratios i.e. something 47 and above up front and 15 or below in the back. Ride up some hills, get stronger, adapt, and enjoy not spinning like a wheedwacker going down hills.
